With everyone staying at home, we can no longer plan to go to the places we’re used to visiting in the spring and summer. Sure, this can be sad, but remember that this will not last forever. There are plenty of ways to enjoy spending time at home with the kids. Here at Home Addict, we’ve given you some family-friendly entertainment options of things you can do in your own backyard.

When you’re a kid, there’s nothing better than blowing bubbles. Credit: Shutterstock

20. [amazon title=”Buying Bubbles in Bulk Can Help Give Your Kids Endless Backyard Entertainment” link=”B07RYBB4NZ”]

Every child in the world loves blowing bubbles. They’re colorful, floating spheres that drift softly into the sky. If you have a hula hoop, you can even create gigantic bubbles that are big enough to cover your kid’s entire body. But after a while, those small containers from the Dollar Tree will run dry. This is why we’re suggesting to buy a large container of bubbles in bulk. If your kids already have their wands and toys to blow them, you can simply refill their small containers instead of making a trip to the store.

If you have a pool or live near a lake, it’s likely that you already own some kind of floatation device. The only issue with a flat pool mattress is that they sink way too easily, and you’re not actually staying dry while floating in the pool. This is why you might want to consider buying a pool recliner. This is a thick, strong pool float that will keep you above water. It’s perfect for anyone who’s hoping to get a tan, read a book, or listen to music while they take a nap.

Water beads are a lot of fun for both kids and adults. Credit: Elongdi

16. Water Beads

Water beads are small plastic balls that get larger when you put them in water. They’re squishy, colorful, and a lot of fun. Never seen them before? Check out Mr. Beast’s video where he filled up an entire swimming pool with Orbeez. We don’t recommend actually doing this, since it would be a huge pain to clean up! Believe it or not, these little water beads were originally designed for adults to use in potted plants. The dry soil drains out the water from the orbs as it’s needed, so you never over-water your plants. But younger kids like playing with water beads for sensory play. You can also reuse them by allowing the beads to dry in the sun.
