Let’s face it, going to school can be tough. You have to get up early, take notes and participate in each class, do your homework, and get good grades on quizzes and tests. And we must also remember that the school year is a long one and even though you get breaks from time to time, it can still be a struggle for both the students and the teachers. With that said, there are many teacher who will go to funny, and sometimes extreme measures to both connect with their students and also make the time easier for all involved. Below are 40+ teachers who go above and beyond for their students.
Difficulty Focusing
Here we have yet another example that would make it difficult for the students in this class to concentrate on their studies. There are times when wearing such attire is appropriate such as when going out to a nightclub or maybe out to a party, but I’m not sure this is the best option if you are a teacher responsible for educating the students in your classroom. Let’s hope that they are incredible teachers and are masters of their subject matter, and that their students are getting a solid education.
Confused?
I’m really not sure what to make of this one. At first, it looks like the teacher is confused about something to do with that yellow cloth in her hand. Maybe it was supposed to be part of some kind of experiment and things went sideways? Or maybe this is one of those situations where the person taking the pic just caught her at an awkward time? Or it may even be that her students played a prank on her and she just didn’t know how to handle it? Whatever the case may be, she looks like she would be fun to have as a teacher!
Going That Extra Mile
Now this skin-tight outfit brings a new meaning to showing off your body! This teacher went above and beyond with a very cool body suit that is literally a body. This is so clever and instructional because it is laying out off of the layers of the human body, from the heart and lungs to the intestines to the thy and calf muscles. It’s also a way to show the layers of the human body in 3-D form and it is doing so in a way that is not nauseating to those with weak stomachs.
Appropriate?
Here we have yet another teacher wearing something that may make it difficult for her students, especially her male students, to concentrate whatsoever. Again, I know we live in modern times where it’s no longer fashionable to wear conservative business suits, and I am fine with a woman wearing whatever she likes, but there is still a time and a place, and a good teacher knows that the work is most important and it’s her job to make sure there are no distractions from that.
Fire Hazzard
Is this teacher trying to kill a wasp, or burn down the classroom? Honestly, this looks less like the killing of a wasp and more like a science guy doing one of those crazy demonstrations to show the intricacies of science. With that said, did he notice that his flame was actually torching the ceiling tiles? It appears that he is looking directly at the flame at it tickles the ceiling. It may just have been one of those moments when he initially lit the flame and then retracted it as soon as he saw it jump up? It is a pretty cool party trick if you’re into that sort of thing.
Homage to Beyoncé
It’s clear that this teacher is a fan of Queen Bey, otherwise known as Beyonce, the legendary hip hop singer with hits ranging from Single Ladies and Run the World to Irreplaceable and Crazy in Love. One of the cool things about using Beyonce as a reference is that just about everyone on planet Earth knows of Queen Bey, whether they are a hip hop fan or not. And that’s the key here, to try and make things a bit more interesting and something relatable to the students, something this teacher has done cleverly.
Giving Up The Power
Now I’m giving this teacher an A for honesty! He just came right out and said he wasn’t even going to bother reading it and he just left if up to the student to select his own grade. How cool is that? I just wonder how many teachers are thinking this exact thought when they are faced with having to analyze and grade their student’s writing? Do they say to themselves, “Reading this is going to be bad for my health.” Or perhaps, “Reading this will only take years off my life, so I’m just not gonna do it”! I imagine they would be envious of this teacher.
A Nice Attempt
Well, this is one way to try and get in your teacher’s good graces after you’ve failed miserable at providing the correct answers for a test. Minimally speaking, the teacher has to take this into account and maybe give an extra point or two simply for the clever effort. With that said, this student clearly needs more time in art class because the dimensions and angles are just a hot mess, and he could have given the poor man dolphin some type of funny facial expression at least.
The Intimidation Factor
It’s very likely that this teacher is sending a message to her students that they don’t dare try to “walk in” without an appointment. If you were born around the 1960’s, you’ll be very familiar with the great Christopher Walken. He’s has appeared in many of Hollywood’s most renown films and is famous for his quirky manner of speaking and intimidating presence. He often plays the villain and has proved to be every bit the terrifying presence that would make his enemies quiver in fear.
Talk About Clever!
It looks like these three teachers got together to create one very interesting photo collage. Not sure exactly just how they did it? Clearly the photographer had am underwater background that each person could choose, but these teachers took it a step further by dressing up in actual scuba gear and pose in a way that would make it appear that they were all down below, scuba diving together for the pic. However they did it, it turned out to be a collage that will go down in history as a memorable one!
Wake up!
Now this is a teacher who is really trying to teach a lesson, one that this student will remember for years to come. I can see it now. The teacher ties his shoes together, goes back in front of the class, and claps as hard as he can, sending the kid jumping up=out of his seat only to fall flat on his face! The student would turn red with embarrassment and the entire class would have a laugh at his expense. If this is real, I would love to be a fly on the wall because it would be hilarious!
The Artistic Connection
Whether you a bit long in the tooth and remember the original Star Wars movie from 1977, or you’re a younger fan of the updated ones from the 2000’s, it is without a doubt that Star Wars is one of the coolest movie franchises in history. While it’s pretty clear that this teacher did not receive an A in art when he was a student as things are looking a bit off, the tag line is pretty clever and it’s sure to grab the student’s attention. And at the end of the day, isn’t this what it’s all about?
Don’t Waste Your Time
As an educator, you are tasked with coming up with creative ways to get your students to pay attention to the lesson at hand, but sometimes you also need to find a way to remind them that they need to stay on top of their game outside of the classroom because if they don’t, there will undoubtedly be consequences like this one, reminding these young minds that they need not waste time and get their studies on track. This one is sure to be a gut punch to those students who are NOT passing.
This Didn’t Age Well
Okay, I don’t know what “sin b” and “tan b” mean, but I do know who “Cos b” is supposed to be. Of course, it’s the legendary comedian Bill Cosby. One thing is for sure, this teacher must have created this before Mr. Cosby ran into a bit of trouble with the police after the many accusations of assault from back in the day. Cosby went from comedy royalty to being accused of all kinds of unspeakable acts with women over the years, and many are now of the opinion that he should be buried under the jail.
Santa Clause or The Grinch?
If we’re going to be honest here, this math teacher should really be wearing the green cap of the troublemaking Grinch instead of the festive red cap of Santa Clause. How can anyone even think about feeling cheery with all those intimidating math formulas on the board? You have to give the teacher an A for effort, but even he has to know that there was not one student in that classroom that was thinking happy thoughts.
Drawing Hammers
Hmm…While this literature teacher may be solid when it comes to teaching literature, his sense of humor is a bit lacking to say the least. If I were writing this little missive, I would have ended it at “I can’t draw hammers very well.” The rest is a bit sketchy. Even though this might not be the most creative response he could have come up with, he is still making an attempt to connect with, and support his student. And hey, he also gave the student strong praise and is at least trying to be funny. Trying….
Quick and to the Point
Well, that was quick and to the point. It must be frustrating when you are a music teacher to have all kinds of kids come in to mess around on the piano, even if they have no earthly idea as to what they are doing. This may have been the motivation for this particular music teacher to take a stand in a very direct way, but also with a bit of humor. Now these amateur piano playing students will think twice the next time they come in to play “chopsticks” for the 700th time, and this music teacher will finally get some well-deserved peace and quiet.
Try Harder Next Time
You would think that, as smart as kids are today, they would at least be smart enough to cheat without getting caught, but that wasn’t the case for this student who thought is would be a good idea to copy, word for word, entire paragraphs from a major online newspaper. Was he or she not savvy enough to realize that the teacher could just type in their work to Google and the newspaper article would immediately pop up? What’s most shocking to me is that the teacher still gave the student a 50% for the final grade. Why would he give this person anything but a “0”?
Spoiler Alert!
This may be the very first time that a teacher has threatened their students with “spoilers,” a very smart strategy to be sure. As an educator, if you want students to do what they are supposed to do, you have to have something to hold over their heads in the case that they buck, and that’s where this enterprising teacher comes in. Game of Thrones will go down as one of the most watched show in the history of the genre. Every week, million would tune in to find out who was going to get the axe, and knowing this, this teacher came up with a very clever way to get his students to fall in line.
The Bermuda Triangle
I know that this teacher is really just trying to poke some fun and remind her student to get it together when it comes to submitting homework assignments on time, but can we stop for a moment and review the plethora of grammar errors on her part? First off, she repeated “the” twice in a row, she left out “the” before “most,” it should be “homework,” not “homeworks,” and she failed to write “to” before “go missing.” That is unless this was a teacher from the UK which means all bets are off.
Corny?
While his sense of humor is really a bit on the corny side, you still have to love this teacher, because he’s making an honest try to be self-deprecating in an effort to connect with his students, and that is always fun! I also like the idea that his school is doing this for its staff because it is a way for the teachers to get to show a different side of themselves than the disciplinarians that often must be in the classroom. They get to be a little silly and the students get to learn about their background at the same time.
On Top of Things
Talk about intense surveillance! It’s clear that this teacher isn’t taking any chances with his students as he has probably been at this gig a very long time and seen every effort to cheat in his class. Not only does he have the height advantage, he’s also buried deep in that corner so there is absolutely no way that any of those kids can try to hide behind one of their classmates to cheat without the eagle eyes of their proctor.
Lady Gaga
Okay, I have to admit that I didn’t get this at first as I’m not too into Lady Gaga, but as I read it over a few times, I finally realized it’s right out of one of her biggest hits. Once again, this is an incredibly smart way to reach one’s students and help them develop an organic interest in that material at hand. And I can see it now. The teacher probably just put this up on the big screen and had the students read it aloud, and before they knew it, they were singing Lady Gaga and probably laughing their butts off all while learning!
They Love This Teacher
Now this is my kind of teacher! It is clear that he just loves the ladies, and he knows that all the boys in his class probably also love the ladies. However, there is an obvious problem right up front; what do the female students in the class think of this? Will they find it distasteful and sexist, or will they see it as a silly, humorful attempt at connecting with the class? If I’m a male student in this class, I laugh immediately and take is as just an innocent joke, but if I’m a female, I might have different take on things.
Going Above and Beyond
Here is another example of a teacher that is willing to go above and beyond to be able to reach and connect with his students. It’s bad enough to embarrass oneself by dressing up as Princes Leah from Star Wars, but it’s an entirely new level to do so and then make that the actual photo for his school identification. Just think about it. This teacher comes into school every day, for the entire school year, and presents his identification dressed up in this costume for all the world to see, over and over again. This might put him in the running for teacher of the year!
I’ll Just Take the F
Okay, if I’m in this position, I’d turn down the pencil and take the automatic F. Just how embarrassing would it be to have to write with a pencil that declares your love for the Beibs? I just couldn’t do it. I would do everything possible to avoid such a situation. I’d offer to do extra home work. I’d sign a promissory note stating that I’ll never forget my pencil again. I’d offer to wash the teacher’s car! I would go above and beyond in keeping that Justin Beiber pencil as far away from me as possible!
Cringeworthy
Talk about cringeworthy! Just imagine that your teacher confiscates your phone, only to return it with a slew of selfies. There were selfies from him, selfies from the math teacher, selfies from the science teacher. There was even a selfie from the school nurse! This teacher wanted to make such a point that he even went out onto the street and started taking selfies with strangers walking down the sidewalk! The final straw was when the teacher went around the school and showed all these selfies to the students just to rub it in. I’m sure this student learned his lesson and never, ever took out his phone in class again.
The Substitute
You know how happy students get when they learn their teacher is not going to be in class and they are going to have a substitute teacher. Those are the best days because you get to have all kinds of fun at the substitute’s expense. You get to throw spit wads at him, you get to pretend you are another student when he takes roll call. You ask for a pass to the bathroom using a fake name and you never come back. There is nothing better than having a sub.
Mostly Impossible
Now this is the kind of homework I like! Clearly this teacher has decided that the typical homework for the week is a bit overrated, and has decided that his students should have a bit of fun instead. Some choices are pretty attainable such as wearing a mustache for a day and switching the order of shampoo and conditioner, while others like ending world hunger and mastering Kung Fu would be downright impossible. Whatever the case, I’m sure these students were happy that they would not have to do any “real” homework.
Fanboy
Well, someone is a fan of the Lord of the Rings, but that is a good thing. The Lord of the Rings movies will go down as one of the most popular movie franchises in history which means that everyone in his school has probably seen them many times over. What a better way to have a little fun than to use some of the characters on a corridor pass? It is another small gesture by the teacher to show that he is approachable and that he has a connection with his students.
The Criminal Line-up
Talk about embarrassing. I could see a teacher trying to teach his delinquent students a lesson by having them stay after school for detention, doing extra homework, or being restricted from participating in those fun, extra-curricular activities, but to actually create a criminal line-up is something else. Just imagine how these young adults felt having to hold up their crimes for all the world to see. Now this really could be all done in jest with the students taking it in a tongue and cheek way, but looking at these faces, it seems like they were not happy.
All in on it!
Once again, we have an example of three creative teachers that got together to organize quite the photo op. You have to believe that they had to figure things out with both the photographer and the person organizing the school’s yearbook to make sure that their three pics would end up in the order they did. It is clear that these three have a great sense of humor and probably bring that into the classroom where it is without a doubt that they are well liked by their students.
Dedication
Now this is one dedicated teacher! We all know that there are teachers who love their subject matter, but do they love it enough to actually get into cosplay? Evidently this teacher did. And what’s even better is that he really looks the part! With the beard and long hair, he appears like he could be right out of a history book on the Civil War. And with this level of dedication for a simple yearbook photo, I’m sure he’s even more enthusiastic while delivering a lesson in the classroom!
Another Fanboy
The funny thing here is this teacher is probably so well known for his fandom of the Star Wars franchise that he didn’t even have to have his name under the photo. As far as I’m concerned, it is teachers like this who should be recognized for their efforts because they do not take themselves too seriously which, in the end, makes education much more fun. The message is to take care of business while at the same time having fun doing it!
Student’s Tears
Now this is a teacher who clearly takes pride in antagonizing the misery of his students, and I’m all for it. When you think of what it takes to spend everyday in a classroom, trying to coral a large group of moody teenagers, and all for a mediocre salary, teachers should be able to have some fun at their expense. And if you’re a student in his class, you have probably done your fare share of making him crazy from time to time, so you should also be able to handle it when he gives you the business!
Succinct and to the point!
This teacher figured it was a waste of time to beg and plead with his students to get their homework in on time. It’s a painstaking exercise in futility that most students just scoff at, so he came up with a more creative solution. Rather than slowly and shamefully crawling your way up to his desk with the hopes that he will once again accept your late homework, you can now crawl your way up to that trashcan and toss it in, as your peers give you the side eye. It’s a win, win for the teacher and maybe the strongest motivator for you to get your stuff in on time.
Yet a Third Fanboy!
I’m not an expert on Rick Astley songs, but isn’t B. “Let you go” not a part of the lyrics? So, while this is obviously a way for the teacher to have a little bit of fun by giving an extra credit assignment, the students still actually have to think in order to earn that extra credit. Whatever the case, having a teacher who is willing to make learning fun is so much better than one of those dull teachers who only sit in front of the class and drone on in a monotone way while the students slowly lose consciousness.
Bribery!
Bribery! Now we’re talking! Twice every school year, teachers have to go through the ritual of “Parent/Teacher” conferences. Now if you’re a parent, you have the opportunity to speak with your child’s teachers and get the real low down on how they are doing in class. If you are a teacher, you get to tell the parents that their child loves to come in late, talk in class, and ignore the lesson on a daily basis. Knowing this, this teacher made the decision to create a list of “fees for services” for which he will greatly prosper. I wonder if this teacher takes Pay Pal or Venmo?
Couldn’t Write This Today
There is one thing that is for certain, this quiz was written by a very sarcastic and witty teacher pre-2010, because there is now way in the world that any teacher would get away with this little joke in today’s cancel culture. You can see it all over the news: “Student runs from classroom in tears over fat shaming quiz question. Film at 11:00.” This teacher would be shown the back door on the quick and the student would receive free counseling treatment for PTSD in perpetuity!
Fooling Nobody
This reminds me of the movie “Airplane” from the 1970’s where the put the plane on autopilot and a blow-up doll wearing a pilots uniform inflates to take over the controls. I’m sure the student burst out laughing when he arrived expecting to meet with the teacher over his grades but only finding a cardboard cut out in his place. You have to admit that the whole set up is pretty good, from the beady eyes, to the white hoodie, to the set of keys laying on the desk. This teacher clearly put a quality effort in here.
Well, That’s Rough
It really looks like this teacher loves her job. But does she love it because she loves interacting with her students and helping them to understand all those fun math calculations and formulas, or does she love torturing her students in helping them to understand all those fun math calculations and formulas? From the look on her face and the enthusiasm she is getting from holding up that poster, I’m betting it is the latter! In reality, as a young student herself, she and her fellow students probably gave their math teacher a hard time, so this is more than likely payback.
Yuk, yuk, yuk
So who is the bigger comedian here, the student who wrote the “A guy walks into a bar” joke, or the teacher who took that joke and turned it into an actual punchline that provided the student with the correct answer in a very clever way? Once again, this is a teacher who gets it. Even though he sees that his student might not have the correct answer, but he appreciated the effort of the student’s joke and played right along with it! Now that’s a great teacher!
Feel the Force Luke
Now what could possible be cooler than having the one and only Darth Vader deliver the lesson for the day in your class? He would be up there with his light saber, slashing his way through the material all while occasionally turning towards the class with that menacing look that only Darth Vader can pull off. And just imagine if he had that whole breathing thing going on? That could be downright disturbing. It’s probably a safe bet that every single student in that class was paying attention that day!
Honesty, Humor, Creativity
You have to love both this teacher’s honesty, sense of humor, and creativity in dealing with his students. Something tells me that he has a very strong connection with them and that they respect him. This is also probably not the first time that he has pulled a stunt like this and I’m sure the student’s just love him for it. After all, the whole point is to educate them and that is most easily done when they are relaxed and opened to learn the material.
What a Clown
Imagine having a clown for a teacher? Well, these students don’t have to. Clearly this is an educator who has no problem deprecating himself all in an effort to connect with his students on a human level, and from the looks of it, he pulled it off. In addition to the elaborate get up, his facial expression shows that he is all about a great sense of humor and he probably has his students eating out of his hand when it comes time to work in the classroom.
The Casual Sheik Teacher
I’m not sure about you, but if I were in this class, I’m not sure I’d be able to pay attention to anything this teacher is saying. Now I know, it is not the 1950’s, and we live in a society that is more liberal than just about any time in history. But you do have to ask yourself if this is the proper outfit for an educational setting, and whether or not it is in her best interest, or the best interest of her students, to wear such a skirt?
Odd Position to be in
I’m not sure which is funnier, the position this teacher has decided to get into while speaking to this student, or the look of utter contempt on the student’s face at the position this teacher has decided to get into while speaking to her? Now I get it. Classroom teachers are on their feet all day, maneuvering around the classroom so that they might make that one on one connection with their students. And it appears that this teacher is really only trying to stretch her legs out a bit, but you have to admit that it does come off as a bit ridiculous.
Going Straight to the Club After Class
This teacher thought is would be a good idea to save some time so she could get to the nightclub sooner an hang with her friends, so rather than wearing a professional outfit for teaching, she came to school wearing a skin tight dress that is anything but school classroom attire for a teacher. Some may argue that we are living in new era and an outfit like this is more with current times than something that might be considered tacky for such an educational setting. Others may argue that this is nothing more than a distraction for the students and should not be permitted whatsoever. You decide!
