Picture this: you’re sipping your morning coffee, ready to embrace a new day, when suddenly, your peaceful existence is shattered by the antics of the neighbor from another dimension. We’ve all been there, caught in the web of troublesome neighbors who seem determined to turn our lives upside down. These stories are a window into the trials and tribulations of everyday life, where the quest for peaceful coexistence becomes an uphill battle. From the endless disputes over property boundaries to the unforgettable encounters that leave you scratching your head, these narratives capture the moments that make us laugh, cringe, and question our own sanity.
My upstairs neighbors used to throw lit cigarettes out the window. We called them out on it numerous times, because of the obvious fire hazard. They seemed to have stopped since we no longer saw butts in the front yard.
Turns out they just started throwing them out the back window instead.
The house burned down.
The fire marshal found a sh*tload of butts behind the house, around the mattress leaned against the house. The cigarette hit the mattress and burned merry h*ll.
Everyone got out ok, but the upstairs neighbors lost everything.
When my daughter was five we rented the top floor of a two-family house. The owner gave the bottom floor to her sister (recovering from substance abuse problems, trouble holding down a job, two kids, absentee father).
One day my daughter’s tricycle went missing. Found her kids on it an hour later. Confronted her about it and she said my daughter was spoiled and my family didn’t deserve to have anything her family didn’t have. (My husband was on disability recovering from a life-threatening injury, and I was a school teacher. So… Not exactly the Kardashians!)
When the thirty-year-old woman began to taunt my daughter and take her belongings, that’s when we terminated our lease.
Neighbors at my parent’s house growing up did not like dogs. Always filing complaints when our dogs would bark at a squirrel or each other (puppy play times). One day my pops sees a piece of meat come flying over the fence. Then another. He goes outside and while he is inspecting them another piece flies over. That’s when my pops sees the rat poison in the meat.
Pop loses his sh*t. Not a big guy, but PLENTY f*ckin mean when he wants to be. Goes to the neighbors house and bangs on the door. When the guy answers it, pop nails him with an overhand left. Sleepy time.
Twenty minutes later, pop tells me the story when I get home, and not 5 min after he finishes the tale (and some high fives), cops show up. Drama, drama, drama. Pop doesn’t go to jail (no idea why not), and neighbor is told if he tries it again there will be charges.
My neighbor in my apartment complex always tries to stop and talk to me (usually when I’m running late for work) which isn’t awful. The awful thing is I’m pretty sure he looks out the window and waits. He always manages to open the door and come outside as I happen to be walking by, and goes in promptly after I tell him I’m running late for work. The same neighbor came outside at 11:40 one night as I was putting a new window decal on my car, practically climbed in, and insisted on helping me. Then proceeded to try to talk to me afterwards. Another time I was backing out of my parking spot, and he was pulling out of his in my blind spot. He honked his horn so obviously I stopped before I hit him. Instead of him pulling forward and leaving like a normal person, he put his car in park and came over and knocked on my driver side window and asked me if I even looked back before I started backing out. It was really aggressive. He’s also jokingly said to me that he’s seen me bring a lot of men into my apartment. I really don’t like that guy. He’s very creepy.
They robbed us when we went to the grocery store. About $7,000 in items were lost. The cop said if it was them they would tell on themselves (we were kind of friends.) Sure enough, as soon as the policeman left, she came over, sat down, and immediately asked if they had any leads on the theft. We never even told her we had been robbed.
I moved into a new housing development a few months ago. My backyard has a slight slope to it which leads to a neighbor’s house down the hill. I had my car in the back of the driveway washing it one day when I noticed a downhill neighbor lady taking pictures of me (and my gf) with her iPhone through her window.
I thought this was strange, so after I finished washing the car, I knocked on the door and calmly asked why she felt the need to take our picture, and she launched into a yelling, cursing monologue about how we were psychopathic a**holes who were trying to poison her dogs with car soap.
So basically: She thought that 3oz of car soap, diluted by ten gallons of water, then diluted again by rain, would wash down into her yard, settle in her grass, and then somehow be toxic enough to prove deadly to her dogs, via fumes.
I tried to reason with her, but she just kept yelling that soap was made of “chemicals” and that I was a f*cking a**hole, etc. She called the police while I was standing there and they literally refused to come.
For the past few months, I’ve suspected that my upstairs neighbor has been stealing some of my mail. I buy a lot of things online like books and craft supplies and every now and then there’s been small things that were meant to arrive on a certain day that never did. One day I caught her wandering around my front door and when I asked her what she was doing she said “Oh, I was looking for something I think I dropped into your yard.”
I got surveillance cameras installed a while ago which were not noticeable to my neighbors. The camera that’s pointed at my front door isn’t visible from the driveway (you can only see it if you’re in my backyard).
Here comes the trap. I purchased a few postage boxes and made up a few booby traps for her.
The first one was a glitter bomb. I set up the box to make sure she would get the glitter to the face as soon as she opened it, I packed it to make it look like a postage parcel, then sat it at my front door. 20 minutes later I saw her walking to my front door. She looked around then picked up the box and walked away.
My only regret is that I didn’t get to see her reaction when she got a face full of glitter.
I haven’t noticed any other mail going missing after that but she will regret it if she does it again. The second trap will be MUCH WORSE.
I’ve been living in my house for about 2 years now. When I first moved in the fact that my landlord lived right next door didn’t bother me. She told me there was quiet time after 10 pm. No loud music no company that’s gonna disturb her or the other neighbors. It wasn’t an outrageous request seeing as I’m a mom of 3 kids. I agreed because I needed a place asap! But after a few months, I would come home and she would be in my yard letting her grandkids jump on my kid’s trampoline. Or if I had bday parties she would sit outside and watch me and my family! If someone cursed she would send me a text saying that she didn’t like that because her grandkids are outside playing! She would text me at work and tell me there was a car in my driveway with music on if they could turn it down. Now she’s to the point where she has told me who is not allowed at my house. I’m so ready to move out but everything is so expensive now!
We have retired neighbours who were friendly when we moved in. It started with a quick wave over the fence. It has now escalated to every time they hear any of us in the back yard they rush out and stand at their fence until we have to pass them again (there is only one way in and out of our yard) to listen to them talk. We’ll often say bye and walk away and they’re still talking. They’ll often say “Oh alright bye” as we close the door behind us to return inside.
I always dreamed of having a big backyard and am so frustrated that now we don’t use it.
At one point one of the neighbours broke their leg. This doesn’t stop her. Her husband came over and engaged us in conversation to stall us so his wife could come over too. She was hobbling along and complaining that she was in such pain as she leant on the fence.
Now before you think they’re lonely, they’re not. I see their children and grandchildren over often.
The breaking point was we bought a new pressure washer and wanted to test it out in the backyard. We were out there with our daughter and she was oohing and ahhing. It was a cute family moment. Of course the neighbours took their spot on the fence and started just yelling to speak over the pressure washer. It was crazy to watch.
The only person that goes into our yard now is the lawn care guy. I go out occasionally to pick fruit, but we haven’t used the yard in months. My daughter and I play out the front as we get more privacy facing a main street than in the backyard.
Yesterday a friend came over and wanted to see the orange trees we have. We were on the other side of the yard when the neighbour came out and stood on the fence as usual. Even having a guest didn’t deter her. I hurried my friend back inside as the neighbour essentially talked to herself.
We are not allowed pets here but everyone has one anyway. The bushes outside my neighbor’s house smell like cat pee which is making her apartment stink and she’s blaming my cat who is a neutered male and hardly ever goes outside. He escapes sometimes but I rarely let him out anymore because of this neighbor.
I’m being threatened with eviction unless I get rid of my cats. I am having a hard time finding them anywhere to go.
Like I said, everyone else in this neighborhood has pets even though we are not allowed and I’m the only one being forced to get rid of my pets if I don’t want to be homeless. We have nowhere else to go.
My neighbors in the sh*tty apartment I moved to after I moved out of my parent’s place were hoarders to the extreme, as well as alcoholics.
We started getting roaches in our apartment about 2 months after they moved in. Then came mice. Then came RATS.
About once a month we’d call 911 on them because we’d find one of them passed out in the parking lot, on the doorstep, or on the stairs. They came over and asked if it was us who kept calling 911. Then they cussed us out because they didn’t have insurance and had to take out numerous payday loans to cover the ambulance costs.
We broke our lease and moved out after “someone” took a sh*t on our welcome mat.
There was a big garbage pickup day where you can throw out your couches and stuff like that. My neighbours screen doors didn’t get picked up so they dragged it over onto our lawn to wait for the next pickup day in three weeks.
Well, my mum went out and dragged it back onto their lawn. They come out and start screaming at her for moving it. Then the woman turns to my dad and says “Stephen, you’re alright but your wife’s a b*tch!”
They tried to kill my dog because it was a “death dog.” She was a white lab and very sweet.
We had a large fenced-in backyard. My dog wasn’t terribly loud. She wasn’t aggressive at all. She was just the size of a lab and my neighbors, specifically the wife, thought that made her evil. They called the cops more than once saying my dog was terrorizing the neighborhood. The cops came, met the dog, and we explained that she was always in her yard. They left saying just make sure she stays in the yard. Well, neighbor called two more times to complain and eventually they went and spoke with her about her ludicrous complaints.
Here is when she started taking matters into her own hands. We noticed our dog was getting sick a lot. Like really sick. We took her to the vet and the vet said we needed to stop feeding her human food that could be bad for dogs. We had NO CLUE what she was talking about. We went back home and decided to keep a closer eye on her. Turns out our neighbor had been dumping all manner of vile things over our fence. Food scraps, mop water, and god knows what else. We went and spoke with her about this and she denied it. Finally, we caught the b*tch on video and made sure she saw us recording her.
Later that night the husband comes over and apologizes for his wife and begs us not to call the cops. He promises he’ll ensure our dog is left alone. We agreed but said if anything happened to our dog again, we would press charges.
Thankfully she stopped coming after our dog. She moved on to our landscaping. She climbed over the fence more than once to trim (read hack and destroy) our hedges and a few saplings. She even went and pulled all the flowers out of our flower bed that we had just planted. We went and spoke with her husband as he was the more sane of the two. Same conversation as with our dog.
There were more random things that we could never prove. Eventually, she fell very ill and passed. Her husband was like a different person. Invited us over for barbecues and all. Eventually even got himself a little dog.
Long story short my neighbor we will call him Greg was into me. We made small talk once in the elevator and a week later when he saw me walk outside he chased me down the street and asked where I was going. When I told him to get coffee he asked if he could come. I’m in a relationship and was 15 weeks pregnant at the time but not showing at all. I told him I was meeting a friend at coffee so he would leave me alone. He then asked our doorman for my phone number claiming I told him they could give it to him. I wish my door people would have asked me first but they gave it to him.. Ever since then he has been non-stop texting me asking me to do stuff. Finally today I replied and told him I’m moving into a house in October with my long-term partner, that I’m pregnant, and while I think he’s a nice person I’m not interested in spending time together. He replied and said lol, you don’t have to make things up just to not hang out. I didn’t even want to have sex with you. I replied and said not making anything up but ok. Take care and best of luck to you. Now I’ve had multiple people in my building tell me that Greg is running around telling everyone that I’m lying about being pregnant and being in a relationship because I don’t want to date him. I’m shocked that a 35-year-old for man is acting this way. The good news is my other neighbors know he’s full of sh*t but It’s going to be so uncomfortable now if I run into him in person. I feel like I’m in high school.
My wife and I were making breakfast this morning, waiting for my 2-month-old daughter to wake up, and we noticed the neighbor’s young son pacing back and forth in front of the house without a jacket and shoes on. It’s still winter temperature where I am so we knew something was up and so we fired up the doorbell camera and heard him crying for his mom at my door.
I’m on the phone with 911 advising there’s a child in distress and boy was the boy a mess. He’s crying about how he was supposed to be in school an hour ago but his mom left and didn’t come back. He was probably crying for an hour by now, so upset he couldn’t remember his birthday or his last name. I tried to calm him down before the police get there by asking him about his hobbies, firing up Roblox videos on youtube and giving him something to drink. We never had a chance to interact because of my hatred towards his parents and it was kind of nice talking to the kid.
The police take forever and the b*tch next door takes her sweet time coming home. After his mom tries to cover up what she did by saying his sister was in the shower (yeah, for like 2 hours?) and the police left, I drove to the kid’s school and talked to the principal to express my concerns. The principal lets it slip that the family is under investigation by CPS and the kid hasn’t been going to school. I call CPS as well to report what happened.
F*ck man. My wife and I are so angry that this poor child has to go through this. I was in tears at one point. I’m a new father so a child being treated like this is a punch to the gut.
There’s a particular type of person who seems to feel like they’re the only thing standing between society and complete collapse, and about six years ago, my downstairs neighbor was one of them. She was aloof and paranoid, and she’d imagine threats from almost everywhere… which made the fact that she thought of herself as some kind of secret agent all the more annoying.
Said neighbor was always trying to find ways of getting me (and anyone else whom she thought of as suspicious) to move out of the building. She’d stage loud telephone calls with “headquarters” about the alarming behavior of the other tenants – like my tendency to get home after nine in the evening, which was clearly scandalous – and frequently yell at the people who’d stand on the corner to smoke. On one occasion, I heard her shouting at someone over the placement of a flowerpot in their window, which was obviously an indication that they were selling drugs.
Then, one afternoon, I found this taped to a wall in the stairwell.
It was perhaps the most ridiculous attempt at an official document that I’d ever seen, and I’m including the time that my friend Jonathan – then nine years old – made a flyer for bodyguard services. The atrocious grammar, poorly Photoshopped seal, and a distinct absence of any legitimate contact information made the “notice” about as realistic as a scene from NCIS. Furthermore, the reference to “the past two years” seemed to indicate me as her primary target, since I was (as far as I knew) the only resident who had been there for less time than that.
Still, since the notice was clearly meant to scare someone, I decided to return the favor by taking a page out of my neighbor’s own playbook and standing outside of her apartment while staging my own fake phone call:
“You should see the notice; it’s terrible! Hah, yeah, it’s like they didn’t know that impersonating a federal official is a felony! Anyway, the real FBI are on their way, and they’re going to dust for fingerprints. Whoever made that notice is looking at a lot of jail time!”
I went back inside my apartment after that… and within seconds, I heard my neighbor’s door open. There was the sound of hurried footsteps rushing towards the stairwell, followed by an equally hurried retreat. When I went out to check five minutes later, the notice was gone.
I’ve since moved away from that location, but for the rest of the time that I lived there… the lady never bothered me again.
I have had to wear earplugs, AirPods, and headphones non-stop. Finally got an ear infection that lead to mastoiditis. I ended up in the hospital for 2 days on an IV of antibiotics and huge medical bills. Currently discharged and now home listening to about 5 different noises of blood-curdling screaming children, basketball, music, and running. I’m so sick of this and the constant noise. It’s not even playing it’s just noise and yelling like animals and these kids are like 10. When they’re gone it’s the video games and bass music and parties. If you’re wearing earplugs and all this noise-canceling stuff in your ears please be careful! And yes I was sanitizing the earplugs too… I just want to rest.
When I was a kid we lived next door to an awesome dude and his wife. One day, they moved out due to losing the house to the bank. Next thing we know, a skeezy trucker (I know not all truckers are bad, I was one) who would routinely fight with his wife in the front yard. They built a fence all the way around the property immediately. Fast forward a few years of antics and shenanigans by these people, and we get a knock on the door. My father was arrested for the destruction of private property because they said we hit their fence with stuff and broke it.
Now this is where the story gets good. In court, they presented blatant pictures of a completely different fence as evidence. My father had pictures of their fence, and the judge sent the sheriff out to take his own pictures. They were found in contempt of court for cussing the judge and falsifying evidence and got arrested on the spot for threatening a judge. Dad immediately sold the house and we moved out, but he got the last laugh as he sold the house to the bailiff of the court they were in. So, now his next-door neighbor is the man who arrested him. He died of an overdose shortly thereafter, and they lost the house to the bank after he was gone.
About 2 years ago, somebody my parents knew from high school needed a place to stay, so we had him move into the downstairs area of our house that we weren’t using at the time. The first time I saw him I knew something was off about him, because he was always jumpy and paranoid about stuff, and he would openly talk about stealing people’s stuff, so I was kind of worried about him stealing our stuff, too. As it turned out, my suspicions were correct. He ended up stealing a ton of my mum’s jewelry and blaming it on his kid, who was like 3 or 4 at the time, and would sometimes disappear for like weeks on end without explanation, and his wife had gone missing about a year ago, and everybody had assumptions that he had killed his wife and such. Later on in the few months, he spent there we found out he had a meth problem, and was pawning a TON of other people’s jewelry, stealing money, etc. Eventually, he confessed to taking our mum’s stuff and told her how to get it back from the pawn shop he sold stuff too. (self-conscious drug addict?) After our mum got her stuff back and kicked him out of the basement, we found out his kid was taken away. Shortly after he realized he couldn’t do meth and take care of his kid at the same time, so he quit doing drugs and got his kid back a while later. Yay, happy ending
A Korean family moved into the unit next to ours once. Their oldest son was about my son’s age and seemed like a really friendly, sweet kid. I introduced the two and they got along nicely. The person who did not get along nicely at all with any of the other family members living in the unit, however, was the father. I don’t think he lived with them, and whenever he came over, we knew because there would be a lot of yelling and screaming. The walls were thin enough (Southern California 80’s era yum-yum stucco palace) so that if someone was yelling, you could definitely hear it. One afternoon I had gotten home early from work, and suddenly started hearing crashing so loud, I thought something was going to come right through the wall. There was glass smashing and what sounded like very heavy pieces of furniture being hurled directly at the walls, to the point where they shook a few times. I stayed in my apartment for the rest of that day and waited it out. The next day, the apartment door was propped open for a while because the manager was in there dealing with whatever happened. The place was a complete disaster. They had a very thick glass coffee table, and the thing was shattered all over the floor. Everything else was broken, knocked over, smashed, you name it as if a tornado went through it.
And the family was gone, just like that. They never came back, just left all the furniture and whatever else was in the unit there. They’d only been living there for a few months, to begin with. It was really a shame, because the boy was so friendly, and I had hoped he and my son could be friends since there had never been many other kids his age living in the building up to that point.
My neighbor from h*ll was my (now) ex-stepmother-in-law.
Little background. My husband and his father own a two-family apartment. Upstairs lived my father-in-law and his foreign wife from Columbia and downstairs lived my husband and myself.
This woman, whom we will call Satan, liked to listen to her music very loudly during the day, however, I work the grave shift so you can see where things would not jive. One day I ask her very nicely if she could turn her music down a bit. She slams the door in my face and tells her husband I was yelling at her.
It went downhill from here. She would blast music when I was to sleep and would listen to no one. We tried peaceful solutions such as offering to buy her cordless headphones so she could listen to them as loud as she wanted whenever she wanted. But nope. I would’ve used hear plugs but I’d never hear my alarm (and my husband and I have different hours so he isn’t always home when I need to get ready and vice versa)
Satan did much more than blast music. She began stealing out mail. She convinced the mail carrier that we were a single-family home and all mail was to go into her mailbox. This went on for 6 months with us only getting junk mail here and there. I didn’t think much of it until around Christmas time when I never received gifts/cards sent to me. We contacted the post office and received a written statement about her underhandedness but nothing happened about it. Not unless we SAW her bring it in the house. (Oh and apparently the mailman misunderstood her English/Spanish)
We installed a webcam above our mailbox and caught her hand in the box but not much more. However, as soon as she saw it she stopped stealing our mail. She was furious about this, and any time a package arrived on her porch on accident she would take it. This included very expensive tickets for a travel pass in another country. Never saw them. One day she told the UPS driver to give her my package and she would make sure I got it. After talking to her husband who talked to her she said she had no package. I had proof from the driver so I called the cops. They went in and retrieved my stuff. Did she get in trouble? No (Didn’t understand her Spanish) Once more of our mail began disappearing due to new people on the mail route we had a mailbox installed by her door (with permission from both homeowners) and Satan was PISSED.
She liked to knock on my door at all hours to try and get me to hang out with her. I’m talking about 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning. I got mad and yelled at her that I was trying to sleep, so she hocked a big loogie in my doorway. She also kept knocking on my door when I was taking a shower or taking a dump and would get offended when I’d tell her I was busy. Told me lots of personal details about herself. I know more about her ex-husband than I really want to know about anybody. Eventually, she started following me around outside of the building and I had to file for a restraining order. That was fun. I felt bad, though, and I didn’t want her to end up homeless so I had them drop all charges. Later on, she got evicted for punching someone else in our building. Now she lives somewhere else and I’m happy.
I live next to this lady who has been living in her house for over a decade. She has roommates and they leave their garbage and recycle outside. Trash is constantly blowing into my yard so I have to pick it up every time. One time a bunch of garbage blew out of their bin onto our shared yard and I left it to see if they would at least pick up the garbage on their side. Nope they literally let the garbage sit on the lawn for days and the worst thing is when I went to pick up the torn pieces of paper it was a positive HIV test printed result. Thank god I always use disposable gloves even though it was mainly just paper.
I live in an apartment and in the building you can hear everything from everywhere. My next-door neighbors an old couple once knocked on my door, when I opened the door they started yelling at me and insulting me because “I make too much noise, and I’m killing them” Fun fact I was sleeping right before that happened and I was alone, so, of course, I was scared and didn’t understand what was happening. The old man had a cane and he started hitting the door with it and tried to hit me as well, I had to close the door before any of them could get me. I called my mom terrified and she told me to call the police. I called the police and they told me that they couldn’t do anything because I had no proof. The neighbors did the same thing once again, but this time my mom was home. After a couple of weeks, my mom and I received a citation to go to the police because our amazing neighbors were suing us… The whole process lasted two years. We could open the door without asking a hundred times who was it. It was awful because they were really violent. I want to clarify that we don’t make noises… We’re never home and when we are we’re sleeping because we’re tired from work… The old lady said that we got inside her house and scared her… She’s crazy…
Today my small dog and grandma almost got mauled by a 95lb pit that had a 45lb first grader as a handler. The dog saw my grandma and dog outside and pulled the kid right down and was charging them. Thank god I was looking out the window at that moment to see this and ran outside and got my dog up at the last second before getting mauled. I was able to crack my door enough to throw my dog inside and then put my grandma behind me so I could take the brunt of the attack. I’m not sure what I did at that moment that scared the dog and made him back away long enough for me to get her inside and myself in. I told the kid to get off my property and not come back. 10 minutes later I have an angry mother pounding over and over on my door threatening my life. I call the cops and the 911 operator hears this going on in the background of the call and says she’ll get a deputy over asap. Two deputies arrive and tell me there’s NOTHING they can do. They said you can “stand your ground” if she breaks in. I said there should be an option before having to shoot her if she breaks in. They said there isn’t. That’s all we can do. How is this legal? How are there no options for something like this? Also, they can’t trespass on her unless they physically see with their eyeballs her on the property. So I have to hope one of them decides to take a lunch break in my driveway.
They bought the place across from us because they wanted to raise goats and various other animals. The area wasn’t zoned for it, which they apparently didn’t look into when they bought the property. Their solution was to try to get zoning laws passed to allow them to do it.
My Mom went to the zoning meetings and mentioned that she’d rather not have to deal with smelling/hearing farm animals, since it was just a small suburban neighborhood and not big rural property lots.
They followed her home that night, running her off the road. Waited across the street for when she came home, and she had to call the police. After that, there were more instances of them trying to intimidate us. Nasty calls, our mailboxes/fences destroyed, UPS packages suddenly disappearing.
They eventually got the goats anyways, and as expected, they were noisy and smelled disgusting. I don’t recall if my mom reported it, but I don’t believe she ever did, out of fear that they would retaliate.
Then one day they just left. Sort of anti-climactic. I got my mom a stuffed goat that now sits in our front room.
We live in a semi-detached house (So we share a wall with our neighbours). I was in the hospital for all of July last year. I finally was released on the 31st of July. My husband told me the neighbours we’d had since we moved in had moved out that day.
Anyone who has been in the hospital knows it’s not a place to get good sleep, so I was looking forward to my bed and long sleep.
The next morning I’m woken by the new neighbours banging, hammering and drilling. I could even hear it from our smallest room that doesn’t share a wall with them.
I thought they’d be done in a month or so but it lasted about 4 months of this continuously and just when I think they’re finished they’ll start doing something else.
My 3-year-old daughter has chickenpox and a stomach bug, so has been absolutely miserable. They woke her early from her nap with their banging and hammering. I could have cheerfully thrown a hammer through their car windows.
26 female. Sitting on my couch this morning with my hair in a ponytail and no makeup on having coffee and watching LOTR (ideal situation). The older couple next door bashes me and talks sh*t all the time. The wife comes home and makes a comment about me sitting with my hair up and no makeup on… after looking in my blinds as she came home.. her husband goes “WHAT AND SHE LOOKS LIKE A F*CKING CRACKHEAD?” nice and loud so I can hear them as usual. I’ve complained to my landlord so many times. Even called the cops after they yelled out their front door at me. I promised myself I’d ignore them but here I am looking at myself going “What about me looks like some kind of drug addict or crackhead..” feeling bad about myself. I know it’s dumb but sometimes they just get to me with all the awful sh*t they say about me.
I’m at my wit’s end with this neighbor with whom I share a bedroom wall with. The first time I had the prayers I was woken up at 3:00 a.m. I could hear everything she was saying because she was shouting, casting demons, and blaming the devil for all her woes.
The next day, I tried knocking on her door to try and politely ask her to pray more quietly. She ignored. I approached the manager who promised to speak to her. And he did.
Unfortunately, the silence only lasted for a week before she went back to her loud prayers from midnight or even 10 p.m. to early morning. This would continue at random times during the day. In fact, the first thing I hear when I wake up is her loud prayers.
I approached the manager and once again, he spoke to her. The next day she was praying even louder, clapping and stomping her feet while throwing jabs at me saying, “You’re attacking me. You’re a demon. Go attack God who gave me this voice.” Among other things. She prayed for hours to the point where her voice got hoarse.
