Stephen Hawking is one of the most inspirational physicists in recent history. His work has brought so much new knowledge and understanding of complex subjects to our society, and many credit him as being the reason they became interested in physics in the first place. This man had an amazing career, filled with new discoveries, and this painting is a wonderful tribute to him. Tom Bob drew inspiration from the pipe on the wall that he turned into Hawking’s glasses, and he did a truly amazing job. Now, everyone who walks past this masterpiece will remember Stephen Hawking’s legendary life.

A Very Happy Caterpillar

It’s very difficult to turn meters like these into a piece of art, but Tom Bob manages it in style! This adorable caterpillar he painted on the side of the building gives an uplifting, whimsical vibe to the entire area. Heroic Strength

Mice and elephants have been common cartoon characters since people began making cartoons! In all seriousness, it was Disney that popularized these adorable creatures as cartoon characters, and that has influenced artists all over the world. Tom Bob created a classic cartoon painting of a little mouse holding up an enormous elephant, and the result is hilarious! That mouse must have classic cartoon strength to hold up that elephant. Alligators In The Sewers

We absolutely love Tom Bob’s play on the classic “alligators are living in our sewers” myth. It’s unclear exactly how the myth started, but its origins date back to the early 1900s. New York has been the epicenter of this myth, and Manhattan even named February 9th “Alligators in the Sewers Day!” Bob painted an adorable alligator crawling out of the sewer system, and we’re here for it. This could become a central spot for myth lovers to gather on February 9th and share tales of the alligators they’ve heard of or seen.

Unicorn PEZ Dispenser

We’re not quite sure what the inspiration behind this particular piece was or even what the unicorn was painted on, but we do know it’s an adorable blast from the past. Who remembers the craze of PEZ dispensers in the 1990s? Everyone in elementary school had one, and you were the bomb if you had a solid collection of them. The unicorn painted here gives this area a nice pop of color and is guaranteed to bring a smile to the residents of this area.

Aim For The Spider

Public parks are known for their basketball courts. Children and adults spend ours at these courts; shooting hoops, shooting the breeze, and just generally having a great time. But the basketball hoops often fall victim to sun bleaching and other weather-related wear and tear, so they tend to look pretty dull and unexciting after a while. Tom Bob managed to bring this basketball hoop back to life by painting an adorable spider on it! You just aim for the spider the next time you go to play. It definitely makes this space feel more exciting and almost gives it an arcade-like feel.

We’ve all heard of people frying eggs on the sidewalk during a heatwave. In fact, this practice became something of an internet sensation during recent heatwaves in Arizona over the last few years. The temperatures in New York wouldn’t heat up the concrete enough to actually fry an egg, but that’s no reason to lose out on the fun!
