40. Lemon and Rosemary Gardener’s Hand Scrub

This recipe is called “gardener’s hand scrub” for all the people who love to garden, but end up with dirt-stained hands. It’s made with: 1 cup granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons olive oil, zest of 1 lemon, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, and 2 sprigs of rosemary. Mix all of those ingredients together, and you end up with a scrub that should sit next to your kitchen sink. Whenever you have exceptionally dirty, greasy hands, this scrub will do the trick. If you’re looking to make a DIY bath salt to give as a Mother’s Day or Birthday gift, this recipe is the best out there. Vanilla rose petal bath salt smells amazing, and it’s the perfect addition to your bath routine. All you need to create this is 1 cup epsom salts, petals from 1 rose, and 2-4 drops vanilla fragrance oil. Mix it all together in a food processor, and voila- you’ve got the bath salts that you need. 38. Sea Salt Spray

Sea salt spray helps to give texture and volume to your hair. However, it can be really expensive, especially if you buy it from your local salon. Luckily, you can make a DIY version with only a few ingredients. Here’s what you need: 1 cup warm water (for spraying), 1 tablespoon sea salt (for texturizing), 1-2 teaspoons of argan oil or avocado oil (for moisturizing), and 4-5 drops of essential oil (for smelling yummy.) Mix the ingredients together until the salt is completely dissolved. Do you suffer from dry, cracked feet? Then you’d benefit from this heel cream recipe. All you need is ¾ cup coconut oil, ½ cup shea butter, 15 drops of lavender essential oils, 15 drops of tea tree essential oils, and a glass jar with a lid. Mix all of those ingredients together, and you have a cream that will fix your cracked heels right up. 36. Deodorant With Himalayan Salt

If you’re afraid to use deodorant with cancer-causing ingredients like aluminum, you may be someone who spends a lot of money on all-natural deodorants. But did you know that you can make your own with just a few ingredients? All you need is 3 oz distilled water, 2 tsp fine Himalayan pink salt, 1 oz witch hazel, 1 tsp baking soda, 10 drops essential oil of choice, small funnel or Pyrex measuring cup, 4 oz amber glass spray bottle. First, heat the water until it’s very warm. Dissolve the salt and baking soda into the water. Then, add your witch hazel and drops of essential oil. Have you ever tried the “no poo” method? As in- never using shampoo on your hair? If you’re trying to give up chemicals on your scalp, you may want to go for an herbal hair rinse. There are different recipes for different colored hair, so here’s what the blondes out there need to use: 2 parts chamomile, 1 part calendula, 1 part yarrow and 1 part lemon juice. Looking for an all-natural bubble bath for your kids? Here’s a recipe you can use to suds up your next bathtime; unscented castile soap, natural body wash, vegetable glycerin, and essential oils. Some of you out there may be concerned with using shower gel that has sulfates in it. So here’s a recipe for a DIY shower gel that you can make at home: Combine distilled water or hydrosol, Coco glucose (Plantapon SF), Lactic acid and preservative. You can also add essential oils for scent, and food coloring if you want to tint the shower gel. Buying more than one bottle like you see in the photo above gives you the option to make a variety of different scents depending on the type of essential oil you have on hand. In case you didn’t know, chemical sunscreens can mess with your body’s natural hormones. If you want to make a DIY sunscreen, you’ll need: a double-boiler, a kitchen scale, a face mask to stop you from breathing in the zinc oxide, containers, 90g coconut oil, 65g carrier oil, 28.5g beeswax, 27.5g shea butter, 40g zinc oxide – I strongly suggest non-nano, uncoated zinc oxide, and 1/2t vitamin E. Night cream helps to prevent wrinkles and keep your skin soft and supple for a long time. Here’s what you need to make your own: a glass jar, 41 grams or 3 Tbs sweet almond oil, 13 grams or 1 Tbs rosehip seed oil or evening primrose oil, 5 grams or ½ Tbs cocoa butter wafers, 5 grams or ½ Tbs beeswax pellets, ¼ tsp vitamin E Oil, 25 drops lemon essential oil, 12 drops geranium essential oil, 5 drops carrot seed essential Oil, and ¼ cup water or floral hydrosol. All you need is 1 tablespoon of baking soda, 1 tablespoon of coconut oil, peppermint essential oil, and a small storage container. If you shop at Lush, you’ve already seen shampoo bars. They lather really well, and last a lot longer than shampoo in the bottle. In order to make them, you’ll need 10 oz (283 g) water, 4.25 oz (120 g) sodium hydroxide (lye), 8 oz (227 g) coconut oil, 3 oz (85 g) avocado butter, 3 oz (85 g) shea butter, 4 oz (113 g), castor oil, 8 oz (227 g) olive oil, 5 oz (142 g) rice bran oil, and 2 tbsp (30 ml) lemongrass essential oil.
