Incredible Before and After Home Office Transformation

Everyone remembers what it was like during the covid-19 lockdown. People were stuck in their homes, and suddenly they were getting to hobbies and projects around the house that had gone undone for a very long time. In the caption of this photo, The original poster said that the lockdowns are what inspired him to start building out his home office. This looks like it was originally a dining room that was completely empty. He built cabinetry for the walls, and turned it into a gorgeous library style office. The end result looks incredibly luxurious, and it will probably add to the value of their home. Stunning Orange Creamsicle Room

The colors of this office are absolutely dreamy. Most of the room is pretty neutral, with beige walls, wood flooring, and white trim. But the colors on the desk and the screens really make this office pop. The orange office chair is called Branch Verve in Coral. If you like it, it means you have good taste, because that chair actually costs $500. It’s one of those ergonomic chairs that help alleviate back pain. So I’m assuming that this person may work from home, and they are really invested in having a comfortable office space. And let’s not forget the work from home buddy, that gorgeous black cat sitting on the window seat. This is an absolutely dreamy office that I would love to own myself.

Monochrome Home Office Space

It’s very rare to find a home office with a fireplace in it. So I’m assuming that this person put their office area into their living room space. (Unless they happen to be rich, with a mansion that has multiple fireplaces throughout the house.) Home office spaces with a seating area and a television are actually a great idea, even if you’re building one in a bedroom. It’s nice to have guests sometimes. And if you have meetings, or you just want to take a 10 minute break, this can be a great place for you to get up off your computer and just have a small change of scenery for a moment.

Best Home Office View Ever

For most people, you’re lucky if you even have a window in your home office space. a lot of people have to settle for working out of their basement, or in an apartment that doesn’t have anything interesting to look at outside. So this person is incredibly blessed to have one of the most gorgeous views out of their window that I’ve ever seen. All they have to do is look up from their desk to see the splendor of nature. In the comment section, they explained that they live in India, in the mountain region of the Himalayas. Someone in the comments mentioned how it would be distracting for them, because all they would want to do was stare out the window. Yes, that might be a problem for most people. So maybe it’s actually better to have a blank wall behind your screen.

A Shoe Making Workshop in Russia

So far in this list, we have shown a lot of home offices where people work on the computer. Most people who have a home office have a white collar job where everything is done online. But what about those industries where you’re working with your hands? This person shared images of their shoe making workshop in Russia. Nowadays, shoes are mass produced around the world. However, there is still a need for professional cobblers. This is especially true in Russia, or they might not have access to the same types of retailers that we do in the rest of the world. Even though these pictures were taken recently, they have a quality to them that feels as though we have gone back in time.

Gardencore Desk Setup

Over the past few years, there are a lot of aesthetic trends that have popped up on TikTok. These aesthetics usually cover fashion, but they can also be home decor. In this case, this person decorated their entire desk with the gardencore aesthetic. On the wall, they hung strings of fake leaves. And there are small fake plants all over the desk. These look cute, and the fact that they are fake means that they don’t have to water them. Even the wallpaper on their computer is Gardencore themed with a Legend of Zelda background. Here at Home Addict, we already have a list teaching you how to decorate your home with Cottagecore design. be sure to check that out when you’re done with this list.

This Photo Makes Me Want a Pumpkin Spice Latte

There are so many people out there that have Autumn as their favorite season. When the leaves are changing, it looks absolutely gorgeous outside. So most of us can only imagine having a corner office like this. They have windows directly facing a large tree in their yard. Of course, they only have this specific view a few months out of the year. However, it’s still really nice to have a tree right outside your window. I have one myself, but mine is a cherry blossom that blooms in the spring. Birds love to hang out in trees, so you get the added benefit of birdsong in the morning while you’re at work.

Director Glenn Weiss at His Home Office in 2020

After the pandemic, people had to rethink their working situation all over the world. There are many jobs where there is so much equipment involved that it would be impossible to think about doing it from home. This is one of those situations. On Reddit, the caption of this photo said, “Thought you all would enjoy Glenn Weiss in his home office running the Democratic Convention. Barefoot, Aeron chair, a folding table, and 14 Emmys.” I’m sure that there were a lot of people who work in TV broadcasting that still had to come into work in order for the news to keep running. But someone like Glenn Weiss has reached a point in his career where he is able to have everything he needs from his own house. I bet the people watching this on TV had no idea that the one directing it was sitting at home barefoot.

Dark and Moody Home Office Space

If someone were to ask me how I would feel about a black room, I would probably respond that it was too dark. However, this home office really proves me wrong. Maybe the dark color works so well because there are so many lights along the top of the bookshelves. And the white trim along the walls also gives a good contrast. The square footage of this room looks relatively small. If you had this as a bedroom, it might feel very lackluster. But the fact that they turned it into this amazing office space gives it this huge sense of luxury. I’m sure that if they ever saw the house one day, this room will help to increase the value of their home.

Office With Loads of Work Space and Wall Storage

This home office is a great combination of work, gaming and hobby space. As you can see from the photo, there is a pegboard on the left hand side. This gives them a place to hang their headphones, game controllers, and power drills. The desk goes in an L shape, giving them a lot of room to work on projects for their hobbies outside of work. In the comments, it is confirmed that this person lives in the UK. But for those of us who have been there before, it looks pretty obvious based on the style of the houses in the village outside the window as well as the color of the sky.

Masculine Office With Vintage Vibes

The caption of the photo for this office simply says, “When is it?” That’s a perfect name for a theme in this room, because there are so many elements of it that look from another time. There is a vintage globe, industrial lighting, And black and white photos on the wall. But this is obviously in modern times, because we see computers and modern chairs. In the comment section, people were asking where they could buy the same desk. The original poster responded that they got it at Home Goods. This is difficult to find replicas, because Home Goods usually have one off items that were left over from designer collections. But they did leave a link to a similar desk on Wayfair.

Office Bar Combo

It’s really rare to see a tastefully done home bar. And people usually have it in their kitchen, since that’s where they get their eating and drinking done. But if you have kids, or you simply don’t have space in the kitchen for alcohol, it makes sense why this person would want to have their liquor collection in their office instead. On one side of the room, there are built-in bookshelves where they house their bottle collection. And on the other side of the room, they have their desk and computer setup. The only issue I see with this is that you’re constantly staring at alcohol every time you look up from your work. But the rest of the room has a very man cave aesthetic, with sports jerseys and other manly memorabilia. In the comment section, someone said, “My wife would divorce me because I’d never leave this office.”

Credit: Reddit

Beautiful Basement Office

This office space looks really bright, despite it being in a basement. You can tell that it’s in a basement, because the windows are at the top of the walls. And it’s most likely located somewhere in Europe, because it’s rare to find radiators like that here in the US. So while the windows are too tall for them to have a nice view, there are a lot of perks to this office space. They have a standing desk, plants, a stunning light fixture, and a beautiful piece of furniture with some art on top. I really like this face, and I can imagine being able to get a lot of work done here.

This Wooden Accent Wall Makes a Big Difference

If you have ever visited a home from the 1970s with wood paneling on the walls, you already know that it can feel overwhelming very quickly. You don’t want to feel like you’re inside of a wooden box. But this person made a wood plank accent wall that is just enough to make a statement without going overboard. The gray tones of the wood actually look really good with the color of the paint on the other walls. There is also a nice place to sit and read a book, as well as a bookshelf with odds and ends. I can imagine almost anyone feeling comfortable in this home office space.

Credit: Reddit

Cozy Desk Setup

Out of all of the offices on this list, I think this one is closest to my personal taste. I love the fact that they have a Princess Mononoke poster on the wall. You can also see some anime figurines on the shelf to the right, as well as some manga on the bookshelf to the left. So this person is obviously a fan of Japanese culture. And this might even be an office in Japan, for all I know. But the plants and neutral tones of the space, as well as the jungle background theme of the computer really makes the space feel light and natural. They have the perfect balance of showcasing their personality and hobbies, without going overboard.

Quarantine Co-Working Space For the Whole Family

When we went through the lockdowns during the Covid-19 pandemic, entire families were forced to stay home. Kids were doing online classes through Zoom, and parents were also working from home. Work spaces depended on each individual family’s situation. Some people worked together at their kitchen table, while others purchased desks for their bedrooms. In this case, this entire family has a gorgeous little work space that they can all fit on together at the same time. In the comment section, the original poster said, “I found a really good local craftsman who was able to build that custom 4.6 meters strong iron table base without any middle frontal legs than I used 2 Ikea Karlby countertops.” On the original Reddit post, you can see an entire image gallery of this family office space from multiple angles.

Plants Make This Office Feel Happy

In this next home office space, it looks like this person made a custom desk out of countertops. It’s rare for a desk to be this long, unless it was bespoke. They have a huge window in the room that brings in a lot of sunlight. So it’s perfect for raising little plants all along the back of the desk. They seem to have a view of their backyard. So they can get a small glimpse of nature but still have a lot of privacy at the same time. This room is sort of giving me Japandi vibes. It seems to be a blend between Scandinavian and Japanese style in this space. Someone in the comments must have picked up on that, because they asked where this person lives. But they never got a response.

Gorgeous Fashion Inspired Office

This is a gorgeous fashion inspired office space that looks like it might have been put in a former pantry or closet. (It seems too small to be a bedroom.) In the comment section, the original poster said, “I saw a large floral wall mural on the cover of a Restoration Hardware baby catalog a while back. And I just always thought it looked pretty cool and guess it must have stuck somewhere in the back of my head. As soon as we bought this house, I knew I wanted to put a floral mural on that ceiling. It was definitely a two-person job, but once we got the hang of it, it was fairly easy to install.”

Epic Work and Gaming Space

At first glance, this space doesn’t seem to be overly designed. Most of it is just the tech that has been included in the room. However, someone in the comments pointed out how they set up the monitors in such a way where you can transition from work to gaming at eye level without straining your eyes. The original poster responded, “It’s not that complicated of a setup to build. Did take some careful planning on figuring out the actual range of motion in the vertical and horizontal plane of both mounts as well as the size/obstruction of the monitors while mounted. Only wanted to drill into the wall studs once!”

A New Start in New York City

There are so many people out there who dream of moving to New York City. After all, Ellis Island was where many of our ancestors arrived in the United States for the first time. A lot of people go to the city for work opportunities, since there is so much going on there. The caption of this photo simply says, “A new start in NYC.” In the comments, they explain that they have just graduated from college and got their first job. Even though this place looks really cozy, they explained that they’re paying $1,600 in rent for this tiny living space. I also live in New Jersey, so I can relate to those expensive rent prices.

This Office Evolved Dramatically After Covid

This is yet another home office space that was completely transformed during the Covid-19 pandemic. Before, the room was painted blue, and it looked very normal. There were a couple guitars sitting on the floor, and they had a pretty standard desk set up as well as a bookshelf. But once they were stuck at home, they decided to take this office space to the next level. They added molding to the ceiling, a couch, and a built-in shelf to display all of their collectibles. There is also new art on the wall, and the tech seems to have been upgraded to at least a second monitor. This probably made it possible for them to have the full functionality of their job at home. You’re interested to see what it looked like before the transformation, check out the original Reddit post.

Bedroom Office in Amsterdam

Most people who live in apartments had to fit a desk into their bedroom in order to work from home. This is an example of someone who had to do just that. Even though the space is very tiny, everything has its place. They managed to make more space by hanging their bike on the wall. It actually looks really cool, as if it is a piece of art. Bicycling is very popular in Amsterdam, so this person probably actually takes that bike up and down off the wall very often. They don’t have the best of you in the world, since it’s simply the building across the street. But they do get that sunlight coming into the room, which helps them grow plants in their space.

Minimalist Office Space Under the Stairs

For some reason, this space makes me think of James Bond. I kind of expect it to be in one of the villain’s lairs, since everything is gray and seems to be surrounded by concrete. But this is truly a great idea on utilizing the space under the stairs. Normally, people have enclosed stairs with a closet underneath. But since the stairs are out in the open, it leaves an empty space underneath for the homeowner to do whatever they want. It gives them a really nice place to work that is most likely near the living room or kitchen area. Personally, I would not like to be working under the stairs as people walk up and down. However, it may be their only option in their home layout.

A Musician’s Epic Office Setup

This audio engineer’s setup looks so icy, I almost feel cold. There are sound suppressing acoustic panels suspended from the ceiling, as well as some hanging on the back wall. We see that they have a microphone, guitars, speakers, as well as a synthesizer to help them produce music. In the comment section of Reddit, the original poster breaks down all of the different products that he used in his office. (Just in case anyone wants to buy something from the picture.) Without even looking at the list, I already know that this setup would have cost a few thousand dollars. He never got into specifics of what he did for a living, but he is clearly a professional in the music industry. There is far too much here for this just to be a hobby.

Colorful His and Hers Office Space

For people who are married or living with their partner, it is really common that there’s not a lot of room for both people to have their own office space. So this couple decided to create a desk that has a “his and hers” style space. I love the cartoony rainbow art on the back wall, as well as the rainbow desktop images on their computers. My only hesitation with this space is that I personally can’t work with other people around. I become too tempted to speak to them, and it distracts me from my work. This is especially true if one person has to be in a Zoom meeting or take a phone call. However, I truly hope that this couple is able to work harmoniously together at home.

Clean Work From Home Setup

I am loving everything about this office space. The geometric tiles and the wooden artwork on the wall might actually serve the dual purpose of acoustic paneling. Since they have a microphone at their desk, they are clearly recording things as part of their job. Everything is neatly organized, and the wooden accessories are all matching and in keeping with the style. Even the wallpaper of the computer has an orange color that matches the geometric tiles on the wall. In the comments, they say that they work as a digital product designer. That makes a lot of sense to me, because you can tell that they have a really good eye for design.

Credit: Reddit

This View is So Beautiful, It’s Distracting

I am in love with this cozy office space. However, I would be so distracted looking out that window constantly. Beyond the trees, you can see snow-capped mountains in the background. In the comment section, the original poster shared that they live in Liechtenstein. Besides the view, everything else is very tiny and clean. They have their laptop elevated as well as their iPad on a stand so that they can look at multiple screens at once. That makes sense that they wouldn’t bother with a lot of colors or art on the walls, when the eye just wants to keep going back to that mountain view. You almost don’t need anything else.

Credit: Reddit

White Office With Pops of Color

This is a lovely feminine office that has a mixture of pink, blue and white in their aesthetic. They have a standing desk, as well as a curved monitor that helps give them a good eye level view of their work at all times. In the comment section, they shared that the desk is a Flexispot, the chair is from Ikea, the monitor is Samsung, and the keyboard is by Yunzii. This person has a lot of attention to detail. If you notice underneath the desk, they have a cable management system hiding all of their wires inside of white boxes. Everything looks clean and clutter free.

Credit: Reddit

Vintage Photography Themed Office

Here is yet another masculine office that shows off this person’s interests while still managing to be very stylish. There is a vintage photography theme going on throughout the room. On the bookshelf, they have their vintage camera collection, but they also have a hat collection that shows off their favorite sports teams. The desk is neat and tidy, and it brings that modern technology to juxtapose the vintage vibe and the rest of the room. On the floor, there are two large cases, which I assume are filled with DSLR camera equipment. If I were to guess, I think this person must be a professional photographer!

Credit: Reddit

A Dark and Moody Work From Home Space

The original poster of this photo dimmed the lights in the room just so we can capture the ambiance that they have set up in their home office space. They have strips of LED lights behind the desk, tv, and even the floating shelf. There are Edison bulbs hanging from the ceiling that give it an industrial and retro vibe. I can tell that the desk came from Ikea, with a set of Alex drawers over to the left. There are vintage cameras on the floating shelf, but the modern technology gives a really good juxtaposition between old and new.

Credit: Reddit

Multi-Purpose Work Space

Here is yet another workspace where someone has a computer setup, but they also have an area for tinkering with their hands. But it is the only one on this list that includes an entire toolbox underneath the countertop. In the comments, they shared that they make Legos. So this might be purely for the joy of their hobbies. This was obviously a custom build, and it must have been expensive to pull this together. I love the pegboard on the wall above the desk, which holds all of their important accessories, as well as some artwork. The person who posted this is actually a YouTuber. So if you’re interested in the person behind the office, check it out.

The Funko Pop Room

When people have large collections that they feel passionately about, it can sometimes be difficult to find a place to put everything. But in this case, this person has their Funko Pop figure collection on a shelf in their home office space. They don’t have a beautiful view of nature from the windows, but they have nature artwork on the wall. I really like the style of this space, especially since you can get a feel for this person’s personality based on how they decorated the room. And my favorite feature of all is the fact that they have a little cat bed on top of the desk. Obviously, you need a cat to help with the work. The original Reddit post has another picture of this space, in case you wanted to see more.

Credit: Reddit

Attic Office Studio

It’s rare for people to have an attic space that looks as nice as this. Most people only have a crawl space, or it’s an unfinished room that is used for storage. But if you’ve got it, you might as well take advantage. In this photo, you can see that they have a drafting table, as well as several shelving units that must hold small parts of whatever they are creating. Then they have a traditional desk set up with a computer. On top of everything else, that carpet is looking mighty plush. Someone in the comments jokes, “I want to sleep on that floor.”

Credit: Reddit

So Many Monitors

I have never seen so many monitors in my life. And I’m not alone in wondering what the heck this person needs them for. In the comment section, the original poster explains, “(I do) IT consulting/managed network deployments by day, which having my various apps and systems (local and remote) all at a glance is very helpful.” On the left hand side, you can see that they also have a treadmill. So this room serves a dual purpose of both a home office and gym. Here at Home Addict, we have an entire list full of amazing pictures of home gym setups. So be sure to check that out when done with this list.

Credit: Reddit

Open and Airy Home Office

In this picture, we see a really clean and aesthetically pleasing office space. There are pegboards hanging on the walls that allow this person to hang their accessories, like headphones. The light fixture hanging from the ceiling is orange, which matches the artwork on the wall. They are hanging their backpacks on the wall, which is actually a really good idea. A lot of people just toss their bags on the floor, which means that they’re getting dirty. This way, their backpacks stay in much better condition. And since they always have a place to go, it’s easy to find your bag when you’re ready to take your laptop out into the world.

Credit: Reddit

Dark and Nerdy Work Space

Here is yet another office that was painted black. When the lights go down, you can see all of the LEDs that they have in the room to bring out pops of colored light. As you can see from the art on the shelf above the desk, they are fans of The Legend of Zelda video game series. There is also a very cool tribal mask on the wall, and they have some awesome plants giving the room a lot of life. However, I’m not sure how they can keep those plants alive, considering how dark the room is. Maybe those are fake plants.

Credit: Reddit

Feminine Gaming Setup

This list has a lot of masculine office spaces. So I’m really glad to see something that is beautiful and feminine. It really helps to balance out all of the aesthetics on this list. This person has a really cool geometric patterned art piece hanging on the wall. And she has several pink accessories throughout the desk area. The art prints on the wall look like manga style women, which look so pretty. And, of course, no office would be complete without cats. These two are obviously very comfortable in this office space, and have no fear of climbing up on the desk.

Superhero Office in Istanbul

Here is yet another amazing example of someone who shows off a collection in an organized and stylish way. This person has a collection of superhero figures. But they’re not your average action figures. These are large, expensive figures that cost several hundred dollars each. So it’s clear that this person spent a ton of money making their office match their aesthetic. Last but not least is this very cool office that is set in Istanbul. On the original Reddit post, there are several more pictures of this office space. Be sure to check out the image gallery to see a better view of their action figure collection.
