Jackie Gleason’s UFO House

Jackie Gleason, an American comedian, and actor most famous for the show “Honeymooners,” loves outer space hence why he has a UFO-shaped house. There is a main house, and a guest house aptly named the “Mother Ship” and “spaceship,” and it sits on eight acres in Cortlandt Manor, New York. The complex has five bedrooms and six bathrooms within over 7,000 square feet. The Mother Ship has two bedrooms and two baths. It is 50 square feet in diameter and is completely round.

Entering the house, you are in a circular foyer with a private library and sitting in the center is a spiral marble staircase. There is a bar that seats 14, a second bar, an Italian marble fireplace, and a cardroom. The main bedroom has a round bed with a T.V. overhead. The master bath is massive, with a round shower that has ten different shower heads. About a football field away is the Spaceship house which contains a kitchen, fireplace, and bath, all circular.

Flea’s Retro Pad in Cali

Flea, also known as a founding member and bassist of the band Red Hot Chili Peppers, is from Australia. The compound consists of two houses next to each other and sits on 5.7 acres in La Crescenta, California. The original house built in 1952 was 1,350 square feet with two bedrooms and one bathroom. The second home was added in 2009 and is a one-bed, one-and-a-half-bath house.

The newer house is now used as the main house, with seven sides and a futuristic look, while the original house is more 50’s retro. The two houses are connected via a driveway and have a pavilion. Both houses have many windows to let in the natural light, with the futuristic house having an atrium at the heart of it. The original house still holds onto the mid-century modern design with a stone fireplace, a built-in breakfast nook, and a sound system with a record player. With the two houses being so different, the property is not cohesive.

Frank Sinatra’s Palm Desert Home

Frank Sinatra most famous American singer and actor lovingly referred to as Ole’ Blue Eyes, was one of the most popular entertainers over three decades and a member of the Rat Pack. The house is an isolated retreat high above the Palm Desert Frank Sinatra purchased in the 1970s. It is secluded, indeed. However, it is still only 20 minutes from local shops and restaurants. He named his hideaway “Villa Maggio” for the character that he won an Oscar for portraying in “From Here to Eternity.”

The property spans 7.5 acres with views of 360 degrees. The main house has five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms, the guest house has three bedrooms, and the pool house has one bedroom. If you have a pool house, you must have a pool; not just any pool will do. It must be a resort-like pool. Also located by the pool are a tennis court and a built-in firepit. There are scenic mountain and valley views, parking, and a helipad! The property is very dated and not aesthetically pleasing.

John Stamos and His Disney Shrine

John Stamos is a famous American actor most noted for the long-running T.V. show “Full House” as rocker Uncle Jesse and his “Have Mercy!” tagline. Stamos is a huge Disney fan and won the 14 feet Disney D light-up sign on an eBay auction and put it in his backyard. From his backyard, he has panoramic views of L.A. while he can enjoy his pool or pizza oven. The self-proclaimed Disney fan has collected memorabilia from both US Disney parks, displayed in his Disney music room.

Some of his prized pieces in the music room include a gargoyle from the Haunted Mansion. There is a Can-Can dancer from “It’s A Small World.” Plus, you’ll discover an original pirate bust from Disneyland’s Pirates of the Caribbean. One of the actual ride vehicles, Grumpy, is from the former Snow-White attraction. We cannot forget the guitars from his Uncle Jesse persona. In case you were wondering, his wife is just as big of a Disney nerd as he is.

Prince’s Paisley Park

Prince, The Artist (Formerly Known as Prince), or the symbol, no matter the name, you have heard this famous musician/songwriter’s songs at one point in time, as he is one of the most influential artists of all time. The Paisley Park complex is in Chanhassen, Minnesota. The exterior of the Paisley Park house is all-white aluminum with few windows. It looks like a factory of sorts instead of a house. The Paisley Park sound stage alone is 12,500 square feet of space.

Prince even had an NPG Music Club in the compound where he had his famed After Dark dance party. NPG had velvet sofas, a balcony, a dance floor, and enormous video screens. Paisley Park has a Galaxy Room where Prince would meditate and relax. The true purpose of the round building pictured above is still a mystery. However, speculations range from Prince’s living quarters to a dining area. We may never know its actual purpose.

Nicolas Cage and His Haunted House

Nicolas Cage is an American actor. He likes disturbing and horrifying artifacts. This actor once owned one of the most haunted homes in America. He owned the New Orleans house of Madame Delphine LaLaurie and her husband, Dr. Louis LaLaurie. Architecturally speaking, the house is incredible. However, few people wish to own it because of the sordid history attached to it. The house was constructed in 1832 and was, at the time, one of the most awe-inspiring homes in the French Quarter.

The story of Madame LaLaurie is that she was cruel and abhorrent to the people the enslaved. In April of 1834, a fire broke out in the mansion, and firefighters discovered seven mutilated enslaved people after the fire. After The New Orleans Bee, the French-language newspaper broke the story, over 4,000 people gathered at the Cabildo, the city hall, the mansion was pillaged, and the remaining house was destroyed. The LaLauries escaped to France, but it is rumored that upon Madame LaLaurie’s death, she was brought back to New Orleans and buried in the St. Louis Cemetery.

Diane Keaton is an Oscar-winning American actress and director. She purchased this adobe estate in the Barrio Viejo neighborhood of Tucson, Arizona, in 2018 from the previous owners’ writer, Kathe Lison, and her husband, Chris Cokinos. The house was built in the 1880s, sits on 1/3 of an acre, and spans 4,572 square feet with four bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, and a separate guesthouse with an additional four bedrooms. The house has charming sitting rooms, a library, and décor influenced by the desert encircling it. Kim Kardashian Has a Bel Air Mansion Filled With Air

Kim Kardashian is an American social media personality, socialite, and businesswoman, and has her own clothing and beauty lines. This Bel Air Mansion is 9,000 square feet of living space in a 3/4 -acre gated property with a two-story living room, five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a library, elevator, massage room, gourmet kitchen, a spa tub, and a pergola. The home’s interior is astonishingly severe, with all-white stone floors, walls, ceiling, trim, and doors.

A chef’s kitchen has an elongated island, all-white cabinets, stainless steel appliances, and open shelving like a restaurant. Kim and Kanye were the house’s designers and were involved in all details. They wanted neutral colors and minimal furniture that was also light neutral colors. Minimalist style does not mean being colorless. The term minimalist is a complete contradiction to the size of the house and their lives. They have three small children, and nothing states one child, let alone three children exist there. It is like they live in a museum.
