Tom Ford’s Movie Set Ranch
Tom Ford, who is best known as an iconic fashion designer, originally bought this Santa Fe ranch, Cerro Pelon Ranch, for $75 million. The house was designed by Tadao Ando, who designed the Ground Zero Project at Memorial Park and the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, Texas. The ranch stretches over 20,000 acres, making it one of the largest properties in that area, corralling part of the Galisteo river in its expanse.
This property also contains an airstrip, indoor and outdoor equestrian facilities, and the western movie town set made in 1985 for the movie Silverado. This western movie set was also used in All the Pretty Horses, Wild, Wild West, and Thor. Outside the principal residence sits a reflecting pool and an eight-horse barn with indoor and outdoor riding rings. These buildings were made to look like an extension of the main house. Also located on the massive property are two guesthouses and separate housing for staff.
