50. Harry, Duke of Sussex and Meghan Markle in 2018
One of the biggest events of 2018 was the wedding of Prince Harry and actress Meghan Markle. Technically, Meghan and Harry have had their royal titles taken away from them, which we know from the tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey. Harry still holds his title as the Duke of Sussex, but he is no longer a Prince. This means that he can’t step in line for the crown, and neither can his children. But at the time of their wedding in 2018, Meghan and Harry were still known as His and Her Royal Highness. And their ceremony was still fit for a prince and princess, despite all of the controversy that would crop up in the press.
Meghan’s engagement ring was Harry’s custom design from a jeweler called Cleave and Company. Her dress was designed by Clare Waight Keller, who created the dress for Givenchy. This plain, solid white dress had long sleeves off the shoulder. Meghan worked closely with Clare, who created sketches of the custom dress to ensure that it would be exactly what she always dreamed of on her wedding day.
