16. Just Like Size, Shape Matters Too.
Rugs come in different shapes, especially as advancement in fashion increases every day. You do not have to stick to the regular rectangular shape that is the most common among people. A rectangular or square-shaped rug is a simple go-to rug because it goes with almost all types of furniture and designs. It allows you to be bold, brave, and creative. Choosing a different rug shape is exploring another side of your decor skills. Consider the room’s surroundings where you intend to place the rug and the furniture before choosing a shape.
For example, if you are choosing a rug for your dining room and your dining table is round, a round rug would bring out its design and complement it better than a rectangular rug would. For the living room where you have the sofa facing the TV and table in the center, you might want to have a square-shaped filling in the blank space left in the middle, and at the very least, the edges of the sofa would be touching the rug. Experts say that is the best way to lay a rug in the living room.
