
19. Make Your Own Citronella Candles
Anyone who spends a lot of time outside in the spring and summer is already familiar with being plagued by mosquitoes. This is especially true if you live near a body of water like a lake or wetlands. Citronella candles are great for keeping bugs away. However, they get burned up very quickly, and they’re often too expensive to have multiple candles around the yard. In the blog, you’ll see that they use leftover tin cans. This is a perfect way to recycle the canned food you’re already eating, and create a ton of candles at once. Citronella candles are great for keeping bugs away from you, but they’re not going to eliminate them completely.
