
21. Use Light Colored Bedding
Earlier on this list, we already talked about how large prints in bedding can make a room feel smaller. Sometimes it makes more sense to have a solid color, instead. If you have artwork on or a mural on the wall, the solid color often works with the other pieces in the room, as well. And like we have mentioned on other bullet points, lighter colors help make a room feel bigger.

One of the most popular options that I’ve seen in small bedrooms is to go for a plain white comforter. If you’re on a small budget, you might be able to get away with using a plain white duvet from IKEA without a cover. This helps to make your bedroom look bigger. It also helps to make your room look more like a hotel. I personally bought a luxurious white goose feather comforter a couple years ago. It’s very warm, but admittedly, it gets dirty easily, and it’s difficult to clean.
