
5. Have Less Furniture in the Room (Even if it’s Bigger)
One of the biggest mistakes that I see people make in their bedrooms is by having too much furniture. If they have a small closet, they immediately think that they need an extra dresser to fit all of their clothes. And if there are two people sharing the room, it means that they have two small dressers. The list goes on and on. These small pieces of furniture end up cluttering a room, and it can be a huge disaster.

If you want a small bedroom to feel bigger, it makes more sense to have larger furniture and fewer pieces. For example, if you can figure out a wardrobe system for you and your partner to share in one larger piece of furniture, it might actually take up less square footage than having two dressers in the room.
