Tired of paying huge electricity bills every month? It’s actually more affordable to install solar panels than you might think. In many states, there are programs available to help give you free or discounted solar panels as an incentive to “go green”. (However, nothing is actually “free”. You may need to pay the cost to install a new roof, for example.) According to Market Watch, the national average of $16,000 to $21,000.

Once you get solar panels installed, you have two options. If you own them outright, you can save the energy on something like a Tesla battery, and have 100% free energy. But if you agree to lease the panels through a company, then you will pay a flat fee in the ballpark of $150 per month no matter what, plus get money back for the extra power used.
