The name “Karen” has become synonymous with the neediness of the entitled white woman in her 30s who thinks that the world owes her a favor. We’ve all seen the stories in the news, but you may not believe that the typical “Karen” can be much worse than you think. As you probably know from these stories, they don’t know how to exercise any common sense. They believe that everything should be done for them so that they can exercise the least amount of effort possible. Here are 50 of the worst “Karen” types of people you’ll ever meet, compiled from a few stories on Reddit.

via Reddit

50. Being A Little Too Protective

Being concerned about strangers is one thing, but you can become obsessive to the point that you end up like this woman who can’t let anyone else have any fun. Imagine being so entitled that not even kids can ride their bikes down the sidewalk because you’re concerned about being sued. At least this Reddit user was intelligent and witty enough with their comeback and didn’t suffer any repercussions in the process. It’s a shame they didn’t tell their parents when they were younger, though; they would have probably had a nice talk with this entitled woman. [via Jummatron]

49. Exploiting A Situation For Attention (Or Money)

Working in the service industry or any kind of customer service is more harrowing than rewarding. You think that you’re helping people with their concerns and problems, but when you have someone like this in your store, you end up getting in trouble instead. It sounds like this person just wanted a reason to sue the store despite the unbelievable chances that such a small puddle of water could have caused her to slip and fall. This Reddit user had the right idea about leaving and avoiding further harassment in the future. [via binbong4567]

via Reddit

48. Taking A Little League Game Too Seriously

Going to a Little League game should be fun, especially when the ones playing are 8-year-olds. Of course, things can get a little dicey because there are parents involved who want to see their kids do their best, but this Karen took things to the extreme. Threatening to call CPS over something as minor as a baseball game speaks volumes about how she raises her own child. Fingers crossed that she’s not raising a Karen Junior in the next generation. [via beanz56]

via Reddit

47. A Karen In The Family

It’s one thing to have to deal with a Karen, but it’s something else entirely when one has ended up in your family. The entitlement this person had, thinking that she was so important to believe that people would wish harm on her children? When she’s working as an HR Manager? Someone needs to take her down off her pedestal and remind her that she deals with customer complaints, not the police force, so she’s not actually sending people to jail. Maybe she needs a refresher as to what’s actually in her resume… [via AJR1623]

via Reddit

46. An Unreliable Manager

Usually, you depend on your boss to help you get your work done, especially when it comes to giving you your work schedule. So it can be disheartening when they drop the ball. Things got even worse for this Reddit user because their boss decided to make up lies about them and ended up making them cry at their first job. No doubt this person found a better job with a better boss, but this definitely ruined their first experience of the working world. [via Clauderer]

via Reddit

45. Science Isn’t Real

Not really a Karen, but definitely one of the strangest conversations anyone could ever have. Questioning whether the structure of the planet is real was definitely a red flag in the beginning, but bringing the conversation to the Lutheran church when the Reddit user hadn’t even mentioned anything about religion before? Maybe this “Karen” was drunk or very, very, very confused about whom they were talking to because there was no logical progression of this conversation. At least this was on a plane ride, so they won’t likely see each other ever again. [via alienbanter]

via Reddit

44. Time Ran Out On Returning An Item

It typically says right on a receipt that you have 90 days to return an item so that you can get your money back. After that point, you’re stuck with an item unless, as this Reddit user pointed out, there is something incredibly wrong with the item. This “Karen” tried to twist that policy for her benefit, though no one with any common sense would accept her excuse. At least it wasn’t this person’s problem anymore, and they managed to get her out before things turned into a screaming match. [via ScoopedAnon]

via Reddit

43. “It’s Your Fault You Got Beat Up”

Being assaulted by a customer is not something anyone in the service industry should have to go through. It can even result in PTSD that can stick with you for a long period of time. And you’d think that if your boss witnessed you getting assaulted, they would have stepped in and done something to protect you. However, this manager turned it around on this Reddit user and told them it was their fault that they had a crime committed against them. Am I the only one seeing something completely wrong with this story? [via winniemanhatttan]

via Reddit

42. This Karen Who Weaseled Her Way Into a New Tenant

If a good samartian offers a person a place to stay for free to avoid homelessness , that should be a good thing, right? If you don’t have to pay a shoddy motel for a long time should be a blessing in disguise. This Reddit user jumped at the opportunity when a friend of the family offered them a place. But they learned really quickly that if it’s too good to be true, it probably is. This “Karen” came up with a list of rules, dictated that this person couldn’t keep their car in the driveway, and decided to start asking them for rent after a few months instead of allowing them to stay for free as she’d originally promised. [via JadedRacoon]

via Reddit

41. Blaming Someone Else For Her Choice

This story is definitely an accurate reflection of what most Karens are like. They make it all about them, how they’ve been wronged, and how someone should be held responsible for their hurt feelings in an emergency. No one made her step into the nettles to fix her fence panel, she chose to do that all by herself, and she should have exercised some care on her own property when putting it back up. In what stretch of the imagination would an ambulance service be responsible for this kind of injury? [via deleted]

via Reddit

40. Letting Karen Get Away With Her Behavior

When you encounter a Karen in the wild, you want justice to be served to hopefully teach her a lesson that she can’t act out in order to get what she wants. Sadly, this Karen still managed to get away with it despite the restaurant policy of removing the item from the menu. And not only did she get away with it, she added insult to the Reddit user by giving them the finger at the end. There’s no doubt that her daughter is definitely going to learn that she can cry and bully her way into getting whatever she wants, whenever she wants. [via Reddit]

via Reddit

39. Doesn’t Know What “Not Open” Means

As the owner of a business, you get to dictate what goes on in your store. At least, you’d think so, but not for this store owner. This Karen demanded that they open the store for her despite it not being their posted hours. She was making such a fuss that a third party had to get involved to see what the matter was. It’s baffling to think that she should get special treatment just because she’s there instead of following the rules like everyone else. [via Pien85]

via Reddit

38. The Vessel Matters

The only real place you’ll find small cartons of milk is in a school cafeteria or at the grocery store. This was just a coffee shop, so their milk was stored in something else entirely to be added to coffee. It wasn’t as if they had no milk to offer him. He didn’t want it in a separate cup for some reason. More than an annoyance than anything else, but he probably disturbed everyone else in that coffee shop too. Maybe this “Kyle” learn to bring his own small carton of milk next time. [via sixhoursneeze]

via Reddit

37. Buy It There, Then!

If you found a part for your barbecue set in a store, why wouldn’t you just buy it here? How entitled do you have to be to think that just because one chain has it, all stores will have it? And it wasn’t as if this Reddit user didn’t offer them any assistance: they found them a universal part that would work just as well. But no, “Karen” needed that specific part that she saw in another store but decided not to buy and harassed someone else about not having it. That assistant manager had the perfect description for her. [via darthwacko2]

via Reddit

36. Faking For A Free Meal

Finding a hair in your food is pretty gross and is usually grounds for a free meal. The lengths that this “Karen” went through in order to do so are out of this world. What made this story absolutely perfect was the fact that none of the chefs in the back had long hair or even blonde hair. Of course, as a matter of principle, they still offered a free dessert to “make up for this incident,” and the rest of the table was embarrassed enough to glower at the offender. Let’s hope none of these people are friends with her anymore. [via goodytwotoes]

via Reddit

35. “You Can’t Park There”

Finding a parking spot can be difficult, depending on where you are, so it can feel like a blessing when you do. But not if you have this “Karen” in your life. It would be one thing if this person were parking in her driveway, but it was a public street where everyone parks. Had she told this to everyone before or just this Reddit user? It makes you wonder if this woman had some other reason for picking out this person from the rest of the people parking on the street. [via yolo_bet]

via Reddit

34. Not Knowing How To Mind Her Own Business

This “Karen” could have kept driving and left these kids alone to play at their front door. It was none of her business what they were getting up to, especially when they weren’t doing anything serious. Kids roughhouse all the time, so it’s baffling that she would stick her nose where it doesn’t belong. She’s not their mother or even related to them in any way. Of course, even as a kid, this Reddit user didn’t listen to her. So, this “Karen’s” frustrations likely stuck with her the rest of the day. [via LostCause159]

via Reddit

33. Keep Your Eyes On The Pump

Again, this is another story of a “Karen” who doesn’t know how to mind her own business. It would be one thing if she’d been waiting in line to get air, but she was pumping gas. Why would she care that someone else was standing in line, waiting to pump air? And if she’d been watching that long, she should’ve seen this Reddit user waiting in line. To be a little fair, maybe she made a mistake about the whole thing, but it still wasn’t her business to get involved in the first place. [via ghaupt1]

via Reddit

32. Going Out Of Your Way For Nothing

Part of working in a grocery store is to help people find what they’re looking for or help them carry certain things that they might be unable to carry themselves. But this “Karen” couple just sounds… incredibly lazy. Even after showing them that they were wrong about their item not fitting in the cart, this Reddit user went the extra mile of bringing it to the front of the store… for nothing. They didn’t want it in the end for some reason and made them do all that work for no reason. Talk about being ungrateful. [via galaxymint]

via Reddit

31. “You’re Not My Mother”

What right did this woman have to treat this barista like this? Expressing her disappointment didn’t fix anything at all and was only said for the purpose of making the barista feel bad. This “Karen” is the epitome of spreading the misery around, though it would have been more poetic if the barista had told her her husband had been stealing sips of her coffee. That probably would have shut her up real quick and stopped jumping to conclusions that people don’t know how to do their jobs. [via HushTheWise]

via Reddit

30. All Of Her Strength Is In Her Anger

When someone who’s infirm goes into a grocery store, it’s only natural to want to offer to help them with their groceries, as well as offering to help carry the groceries to their car. But if the only thing that they’re buying is a birthday card, you would think that’s something they can carry on their own… right? Not this woman. Her poor little “Karen” wrists apparently couldn’t hold the weight of a single card and grew aggravated when no one offered to help her carry it to her car. It wasn’t as if she was a double-amputee with no hands! [via nannylinn62]

via Reddit

29. Getting As Close To The Store As Possible

Maybe this “Karen” just had a hard time of walking, and that’s why she parked so close to the store, even though it was a no-parking zone. But it was obvious that she could get her bags of stuff on her own when she carried them to the cashier. Even if she needed the help, she should have understood the store’s policy not to make cashiers carry their purchases. Why she was so upset about it, no one knows. Probably because she was so used to being waited on hand and foot and couldn’t stand the thought of someone not being her slave. [via Grandaddyspookybones]

via Reddit

28. When You’re Not A Part Of The Conversation

If there’s one thing Karens hate more than anything, it’s being left out of something. They believe that everything should be about them, even conversations that they’re not a part of. So when this Reddit user was having a discussion with their friend (who was the employee) in the presence of a “Karen,” she decided to make her annoyance known to everyone there and the manager. But she got told off so well that she ended up leaving her groceries behind. At least everyone else got to have their peace. [via MrSonic0SG]

via Reddit

27. Not Being Part Of The Conversation Part Two

A similar story as the one above, but this one comes from a Reddit user who was the employee working in the store. They get called up by this “Karen” for not including her in the conversation. I would be shocked if someone felt so entitled to be a part of a conversation I’m having with someone else. Unfortunately, it was never explained what happened after the Karen decided to call the manager or if she just left after that. Maybe it’s best we don’t know. [via Elba-3]

via Reddit

26. Not Even Sitting Down

Being pregnant can be complex, with all the side effects that come along with it. They can put you on edge and make you a bit more irritable than you want to be. But is there really a need to yell at someone who’s not even doing anything wrong? This Reddit user wasn’t even sitting down, so it wasn’t like they had a seat that they could offer to this pregnant woman in the first place. What were they supposed to do, kick someone else out of their seat on the woman’s behalf? [via decearing-eggz]

via Reddit

25. Being The Most Difficult Person Possible

It seems that a typical “Karen’s” goal is to make everyone else’s life as difficult and miserable as possible. Maybe because they’re unhappy in their own lives and want to spread the misery around? No one knows, but this one went the extra mile of pulling the same stunt over and over again like she didn’t have anything else necessary to do. You’d think that this kind of thing was her job, but all she was doing was wasting everyone’s time, including her own. At least she got a taste of her own medicine in the end. [via Shas_Erra]

via Reddit

24. Not Saving Her Work Is Someone Else’s Fault

Tech problems aren’t few and far between; if something could go wrong, then it will go wrong. But this wasn’t an error with the computer. This was purely human error in not saving the file she’d worked so long on. And yet this Karen wanted someone else to fix it? A little hard to do when there’s nothing to fix because nothing was actually saved. Time machines haven’t been invented either to go back and tell her past self that the save function is there for a reason. The poetic justice in all this was that she had to start over her work from scratch. [via StarChaser_Tyger]

via Reddit

23. Barging In After Hours

There’s nothing more irritating for people working in the service industry than customers who try to come in right when the store is closing. Everything had already been put away, and this woman decided to barge in just as they were putting the security doors down. As if these people didn’t have places to be. And then had the audacity to complain that the shelves of fresh produce were empty… because they were put away to keep them fresh. From the rest of the story, it seems as if this Reddit user wasn’t the only person this Karen makes miserable. [via WafflesatTiffanies]

via Reddit

22. Bad Hospitality

It’s one thing to ignore a customer while you’re at work completely, but if you’re working in a restaurant, you’re expected to talk to the customers you’re serving to feel like they’re being taken care of. This “Karen” wasn’t having that, however. She was annoyed that this Reddit user was engaging in conversation… with customers, she was taking care of. What were they supposed to do, serve them in silence? Then those people would have complained that they weren’t being hospitable. Thankfully, in a later comment, this Reddit user shared that their customer was going to tell their manager that they did a great job. [via Plonkie-]

via Reddit

21. Returning A Filthy Shirt

If you were to return an item of clothing, you’d probably do your best to ensure that it was as clean as possible without any stains to ensure that they would take it back. This “Karen” didn’t exactly get that memo, or if she did, she was too entitled to care. When her return was refused, she decided to go all postal and started screaming at them for not wanting to take the shirt back. It sucks that her husband had to come and apologize for her behavior; she should have really done it herself. [via Lovebuttonmyface]

via Reddit

20. Causing a Ruckus

No one ever wants to be brought up with the police as a noise complaint because then you can become a little paranoid about how much noise you’re really making. But this Reddit user got permission from everyone else in the neighborhood, so they thought they were off the hook when they wanted to practice in their garage, on the weekend, at a time that wouldn’t disturb many people. Except for this “Karen.” The fact that she was the only annoyed one is a little justice in and of itself. [via aswespiral]

via Reddit

19. Maybe Raise Your Children Right Instead

The only person who is in control of how your children turn out is you. Putting the blame on other people demonstrates a lack of responsibility or not providing them with the best guidance. Either way, it’s still on you as a parent. So this “Karen” asking someone not to work on their own car on their own property because they’re afraid their children will become “hooligans” makes no sense. Ma’am, your children, will become hooligans if that’s how you raised them to be. [via paracordwhore69]

via Reddit

18. Being Extremely Spiteful

If someone were to ask you to help them move, you would think that they’d go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable, especially if you have to stay overnight to help them move early in the morning. So when this “Karen” stayed up out of spite because “no one tells her what to do”? All of the commenters on this story had the right idea by saying that this Reddit user should have left “out of spite” so that she would no longer have a helping hand. This is the epitome of ungratefulness. [via Doogie34]

via Reddit

17. Making Things As Difficult As Possible

It’s one thing to want to return sometimes, but it’s something else when you’re trying to return clearly used items without a receipt and without providing any helpful information to help make the return as easy as possible. This “Karen” thought she was so important that all they had to do was look her up in the system, yet she wouldn’t even provide them with her name, making this task virtually impossible to accomplish. At least she came back in and apologized for her behavior, so who knows what kind of conversation she had outside of the store. [via ChickenPicture]

via Reddit

16. Let The Blood Flow

Some medical emergencies are much more important than helping a “Karen” with her groceries. But if she gets too pushy, then you get a story like this. No doubt, this Reddit user had a good laugh afterward at the sight of the woman’s face when she witnessed blood running down this person’s face. Maybe next time, she’ll be more considerate and let someone take care of her medical emergency instead of jumping to conclusions and assuming that it’s lousy customer service. [sassycoobert]

via Reddit

15. Unfortunate Nosebleed Number Two

Unfortunately, this Reddit user didn’t get the pleasure of witnessing the shock of horror on a “Karen’s” face and ended up getting scolded instead for “bad customer service.” For something, this person couldn’t even control. “Just holding in” something that’s leaking out of your face isn’t easy if you don’t have a tissue on hand. Which is precisely what this person was going for when they were rudely stopped. It just seems like a no-win scenario whenever a Karen gets involved with normal people. [via iamenite]

via Reddit

14. When Your Complaints Bite You In The Butt

Have you ever tried to move a refrigerator by yourself? Have you tried moving one with a friend? It’s not easy, is it? So why would this woman think that a pregnant person would be able to do so all by herself, up a flight of stairs to the second story of the hotel? And she wanted all of this done even after being offered an upgrade for free. Of course, when this “Karen” realized that she might have made a mistake after talking to the corporate office, she was made to pay the difference instead of getting the free upgrade previously offered. That’s karma. [via MadameMothman]

via Reddit

13. You’re Not That Special

Fast food services are usually willing to make accommodations for specific dietary needs, but when it comes to theme park restaurants, there are very few alternatives. This “Karen” believed that since she paid for a ticket, she could get anything she wanted, even the impossible. She could have easily gone somewhere else to find food but instead wanted this Reddit user to reconstruct a meal that her daughter would eat. Which wasn’t their job in the first place. It’s unknown what the resolution was in the end, but our best bet was that it wasn’t anything justifiable. [via Reddit]

via Reddit

12. Question After Question For No Reason

Helping someone out with a question should be an easy process: you provide an answer for exactly what they’re asking. Things become a bit difficult when “Karen” doesn’t like how you answer the question. Even after going through all the math about what an entire box of protein bars would be, you can be pretty sure that Karen didn’t even buy her protein bar in the end and made this Reddit user cry for no reason. We can only hope that she stepped on a few Legos when she got home. [via Scoozie]

via Reddit

11. Not Your Child

The only people who should know what’s best for a child are the parents. Although others may butt in with their opinions, it is ultimately the parents’ responsibility to ensure that a child is happy and growing well. This mother wanted to encourage her child to feel confident to take risks, even if she got a little hurt in the process. “Karen” thought that that risky behavior was unacceptable and called this little girl “not smart” for wanting to try something new. At least she left in the end so that the little girl could keep playing. [via Reddit]

via Reddit

10. The Problem With Coupon Queens

Coupons have expiration dates on them for a reason, and it means you have a limited amount of time to use them before you can’t anymore. But we’ve all heard the stories of Karens who save as many coupons as possible and believe they can still use them all after they’ve expired. This “Karen” decided to get the manager involved even after she’d been told her coupons didn’t work and started making up lies, maybe to get the Reddit user fired. Hopefully, it didn’t work. [via Skyninjataco]

via Reddit

9. Karen Gets A Piece Of Humble Pie

The point of arcade prizes is that you have to play to get a certain number of tickets to trade them in for a prize. So if you have no tickets, you can’t get one. Yet this woman felt so entitled that she demanded that her child be handed a prize that they hadn’t won. Thankfully, this person’s manager stepped in and put her in her place, as well as embarrassed her in front of everyone else by having security take her out of the building. [via TimCos1246]

via Reddit

8. A Manager Standing Up To A Karen

Here is another coupon story with a much happier ending. This “Karen” thought she could get away with expired coupons. And when she couldn’t, she demanded to see the manager. Thankfully, this manager was on the Reddit user’s side and made her leave the store instead of giving in to her demands. No one knows if “Karen” learned her lesson. However, at least she knew she couldn’t act a fool and expect to be treated with respect. [via d0n7w0rry4b0u717]

via Reddit

7. It’s Just A Joke

Imagine being so entitled that you can’t even take a joke you’re not involved in. This store’s employees didn’t even act out in a way that affected her personally. Yet, she deemed it fit to get the manager involved simply because she didn’t like it. She wasted her effort, time, and anger for absolutely nothing. She should learn to take a joke instead of everything so seriously next time; then, maybe she wouldn’t have had several employees laugh in her face. [via gottemboi]

via Reddit

6. The Loss Of A Job For Laughing

It sucks that this person was fired for something that obviously wasn’t their fault. You can’t help but laugh at other people’s stupidity and how stubborn they can be to admit that they’re wrong. Although this Reddit user lost his job, he definitely made the customer waste a lot of money and time having to order a completely new washing machine when it would have cost zero dollars and zero time to just switch the hoses around on the back of his washing machine. [via JohnCenaFanboi]

via Reddit

5. Not As Fresh As You Want

If you unplug your fridge, it won’t stay cold. That’s because it uses electricity in order to get cold so that it can keep your food fresh. Why was this woman expecting to get a fridge that’s already cold? That would mean that it was in use before she got it, and she ordered a brand new fridge. Anyone with common sense would know they’d have to wait for a while for a refrigerator to become cold enough before putting their food in, but we guess this “Karen” just couldn’t wait. [via o0quicksilver0o]

via Reddit

4. For Emergencies Only

Hospitals have very specific policies when it comes to prescription pills. Furthermore, they have to be followed by the letter. If they’re broken in any way, then people can get in trouble. Explaining that to this, “Karen” was beyond her scope of reasoning, it seems, and she ended up calling the cops to force this Reddit user to give her pills. The cops, of course, were going to follow the law and promptly threw the woman out of the hospital empty-handed. That was a sweet piece of justice right there. [via andrewfoxs]

via Reddit

3. Half And Half

You’d be upset if you walked into a bakery and someone sold you half of a cupcake. That goes double if it already had a bite out of it. So what was the thought running through this “Karen’s” head when she thought she could return half of her chocolate cupcake for a vanilla one in exchange? What was she going to do? Eat half of that cupcake and return it too? You can’t just return food you’ve bitten into because it’s a health hazard. But her entitled brain couldn’t wrap her head around this concept, apparently. [via cabernetcat]

via Reddit

2. Unreasonable Demands And Blame

If you leave something in the store, are you going to blame the employees for your mistake? Surely not, but a Karen doesn’t follow that line of logic. This woman left behind her card at a McDonald’s. She flew off the handle, pointing her finger at the person who’d served her. As if they’d held her card hostage and refused to return it. Of course, yelling at them didn’t change anything because she still had to go back and get it anyway, so that was egg all over her face. [via deadlysyntax]

via Reddit

1. This Will Floor You

This Karen story takes the cake to round out the end of this article. You thought the previous stories were terrible? This Karen put her racism on display by stating she didn’t want any black men to install the flooring in her home. She definitely changed her tune when she demanded to see the manager and discovered that he was a black man. Unfortunately, we don’t know if she changed her mind about getting the flooring but we certainly hope she has a change of heart, and possibly reads some books about how to be anti-racist. [via Trompdoy]
